TheBigDog
Not for me to get carried away but I think that the following come into the 'decent player' category: Stephens Eaves Flahavan Lee, Taylor, :censored:, Guy, Jacobson, Smalley(?), Millar and the mighty Greegs. Add a few more good 'uns and we will definitely be top half next season Edit - did not include Purdie because we just don't know do we? slystallone
Not for me to get carried away but I think that the following come into the 'decent player' category: Stephens - agree Eaves - not just yet; he still comes under the 'potential' for me; not yet 'decent'.... Flahavan - doubt he will be with us next season Lee, - contract up and might not be with us; has done well in the RB role though Taylor, - if fit (mentally as well as physically) then I'd agree :censored:, - as with Flav; doubt he will be with us Guy, - like Flav & :censored:; might not be with us; but agree he has done well for us Jacobson, - solid if unspectacular L1 defender Smalley(?), - on-song then yes agree Millar - see Eaves above and the mighty Greegs. - Greegs decent? That's a slurr; try Exceptional!!Add a few more good 'uns and we will definitely be top half next season Edit - did not include Purdie because we just don't know do we? Who Knows eh? So revised, and I agree with Sly bascially. They were not decent first part of the season, but as you both kinda say, a good bvase to build on next season. ritchie82
Dowie always tried to sign or bring through players who would be worth something 'value on the pitch'. Can only be good for the club and owners if we have more than one or two sellable assets.

slystallone
Fair enough if DP wants to reward Eaves for his efforts – as I’ve said in earlier posts; I think TE has shown a lot of promise in his sub cameo appearances but DP & the coaching staff have to be careful how the lad is managed from here on in; he is still a mere pup at 18 and has a lot of developing still to do – weirdly for his size & height; I don’t think he’s perfected how to jump & challenge aerially yet and that needs working on – if it is and TE turns from promise to the real deal; then we have one hell of a player on our hands. The future of this club depends on youth lads breaking through and making it at first team level – into next season; Millar / Eaves / Bemba-Lita / McGrath (and Brooke if he is still here) all need to kick on and continue their development – we then have the basis of a core squad all made up of decent home-grown youth talent. RobOAFC
Once we are safe, which hopefully we will be after saturday, why not start both brooke and eaves upfront? They work well in the reserves from reports, also gives pav a bit of a rest

If Barry Owen and the rest of the trust can't see we need a brothel at the back of the main stand instead of resonably priced season tickets.........
