Midsblue
Heard that Sheehan is considering a return to us following release by Leeds. Heard this from within LUFC who hold his registration until end of June. We have Black but Alan did OK with us when he was last here. RobOAFC
Did he not just sign for swindon? They have signed a left back - but not Sheehan. Micheal Rose. Had been contracted to Stockport County but spent the remainder of the season on loan at - Norwich.
steveoafc
I would welcome back sheehan with open arms, got forward and had great delivery. Also brought the best out of taylor.

Bring Back Ronnie Moore
I don't think we'll get him, 'cause he'll have better options and if our budget is as low as we expect then I'm sure he'd use up a fair wedge of it. But if we signed him on a 3 year deal I'd be chuffed, quality left back at this level.

laticio
One of Dave Penney's biggest blunders last season was failing to renew Sheehan's loan (on the basis that he wasn't allowed to play in one game against Leeds).
skiptonlatic
I noticed nobody mentioned we also have Jacobsen.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Of all the :censored:e, nowhere near true rumours, I hope this one turns out to be right. One of the best set-piece deliverers in the division, which shows off his assists record. I think it'd be a real coup if we manage to secure him. RoyleArmy
we never get him.
Hometownclub
I'd definately have him back (regardless of already having Black and Jacobsen), he's a way better LB than either of them. Can't see it happening thought, we won't be able to afford him on our minimal budget.
Omar Don't Scare
I noticed nobody mentioned we also have Jacobsen. If we got a new LB i'd release Jacobsen with immediate effect. Awful.

oafc-latics
IF we are interested and do sign him, Dickov may use him as a left midfielder? good call, dont think he would be bad there but maybe only as a back up. we played our best football of the season when he was here and his goal vs mk dons was class
Gaz_Oafc
Swindon no longer interested in Sheehan: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11762_6238511,00.html Swindon Town have confirmed that Michael Rose's impending arrival from Stockport County means they no longer want Alan Sheehan. The Robins were being tipped to secure Sheehan permanently following a successful loan from Leeds United last season. However, with Rose joining from Stockport, Town have confirmed that Sheehan, who is expected to leave Leeds, is no longer required. Wilson was interested in securing former Leicester defender Sheehan permanently, but has hinted the financial aspect proved a stumbling block. No deal "The Alan Sheehan thing is not going to go forward," Wilson confirmed to the Swindon Advertiser. "This is the left-back we're going to bring in and I am delighted with Michael. "It's the fact that he is still a Leeds player, believe it or not, and there was a financial impact that came in with that. "We thought we did still need a left-back. We looked around and thought that Michael would be better for us at this stage, so that's why we opted for him." Does that bit in bold bugger it up for us too then? (if we are/were interested)

Gaz_Oafc
as roylearmy says, he still has another 12 months left to run on his contract. Swansea are also tracking Leeds United left-back Alan Sheehan. It is understood Swansea have already spoken to Leeds about the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international. Swansea are in the market for a left-back after Fede Bessone turned down a new contract at the Liberty Stadium and signed for Leeds last week. They have also been linked with a move for Wrexham's Welsh international Neil Taylor. Sheehan was signed for Leeds on a three-year deal by former boss Gary McAllister after five seasons at Leicester. But he fell out of favour when Simon Grayson took over at Elland Road and made only 21 appearances for the club before he was loaned out to Crewe, Oldham and Swindon Town last term, who he helped to the League One play-off final. The 23-year-old still has a year to run on his contract but could be available on a free transfer. Edited June 30, 2010 by Gaz_Oafc

If that bit's true, I'll set off from Brizzle now and pick him up. I'd even waive the petrol money.
rudemedic
Mmm, Neil Taylor sounds like he might be worth a sniff if he's already played for Wales.

Stevie_J
Bloody hell, is Sheehan only 23? That makes him an even better proposition than I thought.
