Gaz_Oafc
Does this mean Keith Hill was pulling our plonkers when he said Andy Butler had already signed for us? or is there still room for him in the squad?
HarryBosch
Rod has signed a 6 months deal today at oldham. Rod "Rodney" MacDonald?
LeylandLatic
Rod "Rodney" MacDonald? Rod Jane and Freddy 'Rodney' McDonald actually. Extra points for my obscure 'Rainbow' reference.
opinions4u
Rod Jane and Freddy 'Rodney' McDonald actually. Extra points for my obscure 'Rainbow' reference. Better than Bungling a new signing I suppose. The OS is doing a Zippy impression!

razza699
"Rod is still a baby, but is big in stature. He is still learning his trade and is raw, but we see a lot we can work on." Dont tell Alan Hardy!!!
PlayItLivo
I hope we still sign an experienced CB, we've been crying out for one since Stam left.

oafcmetty
Well done Royle Army 1 more in your correct column 12m - we'll give him half a point
PlayItLivo
Like Rubes and Gregan? Yeah, someone with similar experience to them, mate. When Rubes us guaranteed a place he can get complacent. He's better when he's fighting for his spot. And I doubt we'll get as much out of Gregan as we did last season, especially if his injuries flare up. So yeah, a 3rd experienced centre back vying for a place would be very good for the squad.
pukka
I do see what you mean - but If we are to sign some experience I want it further forward. Greegs Rubes and JJ can be the old heads at the back. Edited August 2, 2010 by pukka
biggie21
this signing was very much expected, now we can concentrate on another striker.

Jason Jarrett is experienced in terms of being around the game for a while; and has a decent amount of career games under his belt BUT not as a Centre Back. He can draw on his experience gained from a career playing as a CM; but the reality is it’s a totally different position. This lad is a mere pup without a competitive league game under his belt; so our 2 back-up CB’s are pretty darn inexperienced to be honest. If Greegs or Reuben gets injured; we’re into the unknown. For me we’re still light in what was a problem position last season – IMO we need another ‘seasoned pro’; Stam is a decent example – someone in the 25-29 years age bracket with decent number of 1st team games under their belt. Not sure we’d get that in a season long loan deal. Anyways; welcome on-board Rod; here’s to a productive spell at BP………….

razza699
Rod Macdonald = the new Phil Ojipah! to be fair I trust Dickovs judgement more than Penneys and Mcdonald has come down from the Prem youth were as Ojapah came from Non League

PlayItLivo
Gregan also played CB for his older clubs when needed. He wasn't new to the position when he joined us.
singe
AS I said on a nother theread, but actually it really isa question. Was Rod the trialist, ie Rodrigo McDonald?!
