opinions4u
It's a sensational competition. Even in the extreme disappointment of yesterday's Latics display, you see a side that should really be non-league taking a 3-0 advantage over one of the more entertaining League One outfits, who, from nowhere, turn it round to 3-2, then go on to have a goal disallowed and hit the post in injury time - but the underdogs cling on. Dover losing their manager to Gillingham and then doing them 2-0 on their own patch. Fleetwood's owner stood behind the goal with his own fans. League Two's worst defence taking League one's best attack to a replay after drawing at Edgeley Park. Player grabbing hold of an opposition manager. Tranmere coming from 3-0 to 3-3 and then still managing to lose. Top sides like Huddersfield and Brighton failing to score against non-leaguers. There's loads more not included in the list, but even in the early rounds it's a brilliant competition. In fact it's probably far better in the early rounds these days. Gutted Latics haven't delivered yesterday, but there's always next season.

Forte_Baby
Darlington v York is a potential derby should they beat Rotherham. Good draw for Droylsden also. Crawley v Swindon should be a good game. Burton v Chesterfield should be good match also. Edited November 7, 2010 by oafctom

I agree and I love it when the underdogs succeed, even though it's hard to take when Latics are the victims. That's why it's the world's greatest cup competition. I will be genuinely tempted to go there and stand outside just so as to make appropriate hand gestures afterwards should it all go well.
