opinions4u
Can you give her a good seeing to at the start of the Aussie's second innings as well. Get your rhythm going and an Anderson hat-trick is on the cards!
creepy
should have played at that Strauss in his defence, it did move off the seam (something which wasnt mentioned in commentary)
opinions4u
317 for 2. Cook 136no Pieterson 85no Aussies are averaging a wicket a day against us over our last two innings. Mwah ha ha ha ha ha (Risk of rain on days 3,4 and 5) Edited December 4, 2010 by opinions4u
beag_teeets
Another good day for us but, I would have liked to see either a higher total or faster scoring rate. Granted that is a fairly typical thing to say after any day's play. We might be going for a big first innings total to then skittle them in their second so we don't need time for our second innings but them aussies are now up against it and time and time again have shown that is when they perform. OldhamSheridan
Indeed. Bat the game into oblivion tomorrow and see if they have the balls to do what we did last test. There are thunder storms and showers predicted, but you can't play the game around a weather forecast.
beag_teeets
Harsh Trott scored quickly, KP scored quickly, Cook not slow, having been 1 down in first over 317 a cracking score. Still 3 days to play and 72 ahead. Strauss b Bollinger 1 3balls 0 0 Cook not out 136 246 17 0 Trott c Clarke b Harris 78 144balls 11 0 Pietersen not out 85 141balls 13 0 Of course you can prove anyyyyything with facts. I still would have liked a few more runs on the board to make sure we get the win, another day of batting like that or even another 2 sessions should see us out of sight, hopefully. Bowling the convicts out a second time will not be as easy as the first innings and it is this bit that worries me.

I suspect Swann will get a little bit more turn in day 4 ... previous Aussie sides have had the strength to fight back from this position before. I'm not sure this one's good enough. L1onheart
If we bat for another day and a half; which on that track, we are more than capable, we will easily win by an innings. Mental note to self: Write to Cricket Australia with recommended bra sizes for Ryan Harris
leeslover
should have played at that Strauss in his defence, it did move off the seam (something which wasnt mentioned in commentary) The Guardian suggested he should have referred it to the third umpire to be given not out as the ball was clearly shown to have travelled 6 inches over the bails
24hoursfromtulsehill
Rain forecast for days four and five. Not promising. I'd still fancy us to win in Perth and Melbourne and Sydney though. Their bowling is pure filth.
creepy
regarding the scoring rate credit where it is due to Watson, i thought he bowled pretty well to his field didnt see North bowl, but looking at his figures it looked like he did the same, which slowed us down Trott was recieving some short stuff with a well placed field aswell as much as we would like to think, this is Australia they are no mugs
Hometownclub
We should win this from here without to much interference from the weather. If we bat all day tomorrow and get the score up to 600, we then give ourselves 2 days to bowl them out again.
Oafc88
Swann will get a 5 or 6 for on this track in Aussies second innings. Its a bit of patience thats needed. BUT Aussie minds aren't like that of Warne, McGrath, etc... this lot are not up to it and Ponting knows it. Get Hussey and Haddin and you are through to a crap tail. So if top order fluff it much harder. And it shows too with the defensive minded fields he sets up, pretty much saying he doesn't have confidence in them. L1onheart
Just submitted this to the Barmy Army.....I am wallowing, while it lasts!! We come to a land downnunder Where women stare in awe and wonder Can you hear can you hear Cook’s bat thunder Another run, another four through cover? opinions4u
I know it would be quite boring, but should we just bat for the remianing 17 days of the series and never let them have a go?
L1onheart
Going to rain tomorrow late afternoon and All Tuesday. Strauss needs to declare now to get any result. Get Anderson to reverse swing and Swanny to pitch it in Dougie's footprints and it will be all over a couple of hours before the rain sets in. Go for the Kill tomorrow, bat for ten days and I can have a ball in Sydney whatever the result. Sweeeeeet
beag_teeets
I still would like a faster scoring rate. Joke!!! Damn you rain! Damn you! I bloody hope we can pull this win off, the convicts will be time-wasting more than an opposition keeper at 1-1 at BP with 5 mins left. Hometownclub
I think we'll win this unless we lose 2 or 3 full sessions of play, it's still a good batting track, but we have a better bowling attack than them with Anderson, and we have a spinner. futchers briefs
The Aussie attack is as bad as i've seen in a long while - no character, no fight, no balls (excuse the pun!) and little ability - fill your boots boys.

It didn't help that they dropped two of their best bowlers and replaced them with cabbages.
futchers briefs
It didn't help that they dropped two of their best bowlers and replaced them with cabbages. and that says it all as Mitchell looked in dreadful nick after the first test and i was disappointed to see him dropped You're right about the cabbages though - Dohertys looks nothing more than a CLL bowler at best
LeylandLatic
Of course you can prove anyyyyything with facts. Stewart Lee?
futchers briefs
:ranting: Joel Garner, Mudassar Nawaz, Michael Holding, Colin Croft, Viv Richards etc are CLL / Lancs leauge players..... How dare you. Doherty is park on a Sunday morning. As Warne said these lads have grown up trying to be spinners and if thats the best well things bad. Hauritz is a far better bowler....Mind I am a better bowler. Perhaps that was a harsh statement against some of the CLL's finest! As for Doherty, we were having the same conversation last night, how we were sure that we could bowl better Joel Garner - I remember walking past him at Hollinwood cc a few years ago when he played against them - HUGE!!!
