opinions4u
I've always loved football and as a teenager felt like I went to every ground on the planet. The reality is that I never went south of the Midlands. Probably to appease parents on the time I got home, possibly financial reasons. I can't really remember. Then, with the responsibilities of work and the social/financial impacts of parenthood, I struggled to get to home games of the teams I lived near to, and away games simply ceased altogether. This year I've been a little more adventurous and visited a number of new league grounds. Peterborough, Hartlepool, Lincoln, Brentford, Accrington and will probably head for Walsall next weekend. I've also only ever attended two home grounds for the same team twice - Derby's Baseball Ground and Pride Park, and City's Maine Road and Council House. The grounds I'm slighlty surprised I've never quite got to are Leeds, Birmingham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Carlisle. A quick glimpse at the Conference only shows York as a place that I've been to that disappeared out of the league. (EDIT: Add Wrexham to that). So of the current 92 league sides, I'm a little disappointed to realise that I've only been to 40 grounds so far in my life. I suspect I'll struggle to get to 92, although it may become something more of an ambition as I get older and work becomes less of a commitment. Anyway, for what it's worth, here's my list - I'm sure a fair few other posters can muller it! Man Utd Man City Bolton Stoke Liverpool Blackpool West Brom Newcastle Blackburn Aston Villa Everton Wigan Wolverhampton Derby Coventry Burnley Nott'm Forest Leicester Sheff Utd Preston Sheff Wed Huddersfield Oldham Peterborough Brentford Hartlepool Rochdale Tranmere Notts County Port Vale Chesterfield Bury Rotherham Wycombe Crewe Macclesfield Accrington Stanley Bradford Lincoln City Stockport Edited November 28, 2010 by opinions4u
Diego_Sideburns
There are loads of threads on this subject but I've never bothered posting before, because there are new grounds I haven't been to for clubs where I've visited their old ground. Anyway, talking to people recently who all only count the total on the basis of one ground visited per club, I still need to get to Aldershot, Barnet and Stevenage to complete the current 92. Harry Dowds Green Shirt
Using the basis of being on either the old or current ground (and in some cases both) the only grounds missing out of the current 92 are: - Aldershot Barnet Morecombe (would have done this ground the season before last if we hadn't f**ked up the FA cup ist round replay against Cheltenham) Stevenage Grounds that I have been on that have since dropped our of the league include: - Halifax Southport York Wrexham Mansfield Rushden & Diamonds Grimsby Town, Luton Town Darlington Cambridge United *Cough* AFC Wimbledon *Cough* Have seen the mighty tics on each and every ground as well
JoeP
Visited 51 of the current league grounds with Latics. Visited 58 of the current league clubs including old grounds following Latics. Visited 65 clubs in total following Latics, including current non-league grounds and Wembley. Have also been to Anfield, but not to see Latics. Fairly modest total, but I blame it on the fact that we’ve been stuck in this division for too long with little turnover of new grounds to visit!
