MaskedOwl
Someone mentioned that Mvoto, Tounkara and Lee were all out of contract at end of season. Would we be looking to keep them? The answer was yes. Trying to sort Lee out asap. Also want to keep the other two but if they keep improving them obviously other clubs will be in for them. Another question was about the management team staying with us. They said they love it here. They love the challenge and see the club as a project. Money isn't the issue (both their wages and what they have to spend) and they will work with what they have got.
lordLOVErocket80
Did anyone ask why PD brings everyone back for corners? Still dont understand that one.
razza699
Did anyone ask why PD brings everyone back for corners? Still dont understand that one. yep, Because him and Taggart are so confident that we can create numerous chances in open play. They are warey we have conceded to many corners so they now sacrifice any chance of a counter attack by pulling everyone back to make sure the corner is defended
daznathe
Did anyone ask why PD brings everyone back for corners? MaskedOwl
Did anyone ask why PD brings everyone back for corners? Still dont understand that one. yes they did. he said that everyone is back for corners because the opposition put that many people in the box. they are needed back there. he also said we are confident we can score at any time from open play so don't need to break from corners. maddog
Did anyone ask why PD brings everyone back for corners? Still dont understand that one. Dickov said something about the opposition putting 5 or 6 players in the box, so 5 of ours to cover each of them (or 6), one on each post, something about the edge of the box.... It got a bit technical for me, but the maths did add up to 10 players.

I believe the figs of 7k and 1.5k are correct from a member of staff at Sunderland. Sunderland nicked Mvoto from PSG so had to pay him to come over. TheBigDog
Dickov said something about the opposition putting 5 or 6 players in the box, so 5 of ours to cover each of them (or 6), one on each post, something about the edge of the box.... It got a bit technical for me, but the maths did add up to 10 players. Let's say that there are six from the opposition in the box - we have six marking (one on one) plus two on the posts plus the keeper - that's 9 versus 6 so far.... then we add one of them taking the corner and their keeper back in his box - that's 9 versus 8 so far.... then we have two of theirs on the edge of he box and two of ours - that's 11 versus 10. They can have one player back to pick up the clearance and launch the ball forward again. That accounts for the 11 from both sides. So if we leave two up field - the opposition mostly will leave two possibly three to mark us - leaving only 7 attacking the corner - against 9 defending the corner.. still seems a better approach to me but.. 'in Dickov we trust'...
