Player Ratings V's Dale

Recommended Posts

Bad defeat in a typical, scrappy derby game.

Brill................ 6 - Flapped and punched at the ball which led to the penalty. Did well to save the initial penno, but unfortunate that it fell kindly for Dale. Kicking was erratic on such a bobbly, hard pitch.

Evina.............. 4 - Extremely poor. Couldn't find a blue shirt and got a bit of a roasting off the Dale right winger. No coincidence all their attacks were fed down that flank.

Mvoto............. 6 - Landed awkwardly but handled their front threat reasonably well until then.

Hazell............. 5 - Decent first half, but all over the place second half. At fault for their second goal.

Lee................ 7 - Was about our best defender and linked well in attack.

Furman.......... 7 - Tried his hardest to keep the tempo going, and took his goal well.

Stephens........ 5 - Young Dale was off the pace today. Took some decent corners in which Dale defended well.

Morais............ 8 - MOM by a distance. Showed quality on the ball and looked a threat. Played in 3 positions and played them all well.

Taylor............ 5 - Back to frustrating everyone today. Didn't win his battles on the pitch and improved slightly when put on the wing but without threatening them.

Tounkara........ 6 - Showed the odd glimse of quality, but on the whole disappointing and looked tired and off the pace.

White.............. 6 - Struggled to get into the game but a brilliant run cut through their defence before wastefully blazing over.

Subs:

Trotman.............. 7 - Slotted in well, always looked a threat at set pieces and was ludicrously booked when the referee produced a new rule out of his arse. If Mvoto is out long term, we'll be OK with Trotman as replacement.

Brooke............... 6 - Couldn't fault effort, didn't really get a clear chance really apart from a half chance at the death.

Millar.................. 6 - Only on for last five minutes. Showed some nice touches as we finally piled the pressure on.

It was a bitter defeat today, which I think a more experienced side would have seen through. The results today mean we haven't really lost much ground but it's essential to put a stop to the rot on Saturday if we have any hopes of getting into the play offs.

i fort trotman had a poor game. did well whilst at the back but most the time he spent on the pitch he was up top and lookin completly lost an dint have a clue what he was doin and he was rightly booked you canr run around chasing the keper trying to block the kick he was rediculously over the top with it the way to do it is the way brooke did it and th way tounkara usualy does it. and disagree with your assessment of white fort he was very good one of our best players and always looked dangerous specially second hal he ran there right back ragged. stephens had one of his better games of late but his corners leave a lot to be desired he needs to start whippin them in so they can be attacked instead of floating them in

I'd disagree- the keeper runs to the edge of the box and Trotman is a yard or two from him but outside the box. The keeper could have easily kicked that by taking a few steps backwards (if Trotman had followed him then he deserves to get penalised). Personally if the keeper runs to the edge of the box and holds on to it for so long then its the Keeper who is at fault.

The laws are quite woolly in this instance. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederati...e_2010_11_e.pdf

Trotman did not prevent the keeper from releasing the ball from his hands (he could have quite easily thrown it), but the keeper had held on to the ball for greater than 6 seconds.

(If only ask the ref was about).

have to agree with that especially the 6 second bit and ur quite right he could have easily thrown it but seriously he dint jus run to the edge of the box did he. once he got there he had to keep moving from side to side to get away from trotman who seemed to be chasing him. think it would have been a brave ref to book the keeper an tell him he should have thrown it instead
