ritchie82
Very very Sunday league that. We had all the ball but went for the old big lump up front tatic despite have proper attacking players on the bench. Not a wise move when we had all the ball and just needed to create a chance. Seeing Big Jean with the ball at his feet on the right wing was embarrassing.

oldhamains
I didn't think it was embarrassing! The only thing that was embarrassing was the ref and lines man!
davebuckley06
i thought it was a daft move to be honest. fair enuf stick him up front but out wide? if u put him up top he has to be down the middle. let tounkara an ried do the runnin in the channels an jus have big john in the box. didnt make much sense

oafc-latics
for what we were trying to do - get an equaliser - there would be no point bringing jones on because he isn't going to score a goal. feeney might have got on the end of a cross but brighton had a tall defence. m'voto was the only one who could have won a header from a cross so fair play to dickov. he's starting to rely on defenders to go upfront and chase the game instead of strikers, thats more worrying than not bringing on a player who'd rather play for northern ireland

RobOAFC
Morais wanted to come off, he could hardly run and signalled to the bench.. Anyway, M'voto has scored 2 this season compared to Feeney's 1 (which wasnt even in the league) Feeney hardly looks like shooting. M'voto offered the Brighton defence more worries - who wants to be defending against Tonk and Mvoto in the air?
ritchie82
who wants to be defending against Tonk and Mvoto in the air? They didn't seem to mind. Tonks and Reid with someone wide putting balls in i.e. Jones would have been a different matter. As for Mvoto scoring one more goal than Feeney I'd love to compare the mins on the pitch and how many games on the trot Feeney has started. We had all the ball we didn't need to change tatics and lump it, just needed a bit of know how to work a chance. Lets face it if Reid and Tonks are anything they are big lumps, how many you need to win a header? Its worrying that Dickov's plan B seems to be to throw a centre half up front be it Trotman or Mvoto.

Well, on the basis of minutes on pitch, ones a striker and ones a defender, so the striker should have a better rate... Incidentally M'voto has scored his 2 goals when he's been put up front as a striker in the last 10 minutes of a game (and if you'd love to do it then do it.. M'voto started 16 games in the league and feeney 10 and feeney still hasn't scored in the league whereas M'voto has twice when he's been stuck upfront in the last 10 minutes of a game, compare that) Few minutes left and need a goal, your not going to stick a player on who doesn't look like shooting let alone scoring. Think it says at lot about the chances of Feeney being here next season that two games running, Dickov's brought on a centre-half at 1-0 down and left him on the bench. Can see why he did it yesterday (we were winning nothing in the air) but it does sum up our lack of quality up front.
