singe
Ernie was a fine example, but another would be Leon Legge at Brentford. There is an interesting (to me being local) article about him here, he got his chance at 24. Of course, Eyrsey was an even more well known example. Leon Legge In the same vein, if we were to do this route, I would suggest Tonbridge's keeper Lee Worgan and Frannie Collin. Legge went when the Angels were in Ryman Prem, and the two players mentioned are holding their own in the BSq South. I know others have much more knowledge of the non league circuit, but it would be interesting to see the stats how many make it and how many fail after a later in life contract. leeslover
Stuart Pearce must be the best example. Part time until his early 20s then one of the most capped internationals

Guest
I seem to remember Stevie Whitehall was something like 24 when he turned professional.
RobOAFC
Steve Morison? He was at Northampton as a youngster I think but dropped into non-league for a few years when didn't make it there..
