laticdickovarmy
If you could sign just one latics player who has ever played for us in our history to play with the current crop A, Who would it be? B, Why that player?
Lags
Graham Bell Cos he was my favourite player
Tommy_Fent
David Eyres because he was a quality winger who created so many chances and meant we were deadly from set-pieces
ghostofcecere
Andy Ritchie, the skill and vision he showed was worth the entrance fee alone.
oafc-latics
That i've seen... Warne... not much skill but i've got a feeling he'd have worked well with Kuqi/Smith
rudemedic
That's a quality question. Roger Palmer A Poacher of his quality would probably get us a promoted level of goals. I nearly went for Paul Warhurst as we were weakest at LB (with everyone fit), and whilst Dennis Irwin was a better overall full-back, we would still be vulnerable to the Southampton tactic of the diagonal ball to the centre-forward to jump against him, but with Warhurst we wouldn't be as vulnerable. LaticsPete
Bobby Johnstone He had the ability to create chances, score himself, and his aura had opponents in fear, plus his experience and achievements elsewhere made him a superb influence on the rest of the team. Midsblue
Eyresy is one of my all time favourites and excited me whenever he played.....however even the legend #28 would be a waste as we have nobody to convert his passes or crosses. Therefore I would go for Stitch. That said, what could we have done this season had we had a lesser mortal than Ritchie like Beckett or Hughes to convert all those chances???? philliggi
Alan Groves. not from my era but some of the stories you hear - tying shoe laces, passing to opposition purposely, sitting on the ball- thats what dreams are made of
Stevie_J
Bobby Johnstone. Because I never saw him play and my grandad reckoned that no other Latics player ever was fit to lace his boots.
