Stevie_J
Players should pay agents commision themselves, not clubs. Absolutely. Agents are not supposed to put themselves in a position where their duty to their client and their personal interest conflict. Getting paid directly by clubs clearly breaches that but it would seem that it's rife.
Zorrro
I look at it in the same way I look at recruitment agencies. A player goes to an agency and asks them to represent them in the same way you'd go to Adecco and they'd fix you up with employment. The company that takes you on then invoices the agency, and even pays a commission if it's a permanent contract. It's a bit simplistic and I haven't given it too much thought, but the notion that a player pays the agent is a bit wide of the mark for me. Monty Burns
Corney once said that if you don't pay any agents fees, then you won't get any good players.

Its alright to refuse to pay agents fees if the other 23 league one clubs also refuse , it puts us on a level playing ground , but if one club offers to pay the players agent fee's and the other doesnt , who do you think they'll sign for.
