PD will walk before he is pushed..

and will be the first manager to do so under TTA? apart from Dowie initially

Talbot - Sacked

Moore - Sacked, perhaps regretably

Sheridan - Sacked, again regretably

Royle - just intrim

Penney - Sacked

Bad record with managers over the past 8 years, however i'd go as far as saying PD is the best manager out of them lot - even though Shez has a good first season. I think PD is well up for the challenge again this year but another struggle may just see him walk, on the contray to many previous managers who's relationship with SC became strained, PD seems to have a good relationship with the board, even when he twists their arm for money.

On the basis that we lost to an apparently strong Hull side in a pre season game? I wouldn't pick you to stand beside me in the trenches Edited by leeslover

Don't think so...more of the same if anything until we actually have some money to back a manager!

I really like PD and yes the league IMO is weaker than last year... At the top that is though not the areas where we will finish, the worry for me is we lack so so much in an expericed head and feel there is a lack of leadership in our side

The good news is we still have time to correct this I just hope PD has learnt from some of his mistakes last year, the point made about PD realtionship with the board is a good one, they do seem united and that is good as a fan

If we finishded 20th I think that would be a massive success based on what we have at the moment

I'm not overly optimistic about the forthcoming season but with 3 weeks and probably 3 more signings to go, I think your aiming rather lower than you need to.

Nah, sorry that's rubbish.

PD said when he first joined that he was looking for progression year on year.

1st season a 17th place finish with no cup runs going out in the early rounds in all.

2nd season - a 16th place, area final in JPT and a plum 3rd round tie at Anfield.

There is no way that either he, Corney or us fans should or would be happy with a 20th place finish. Even with what we have at the moment, which IMO isn't half as bad as some a making out, there's no way we'll finish 20th - i'd be prepared to put money down on that - at least a pound!

3rd season - a 15th place, final in JPT, a plum 3rd round tie at Old Trafford and round two of Capital Cup!
