razza699
One name I heard mentioned on Saturday was David Eyres, he's apparently said he'd want to become a manager one day and is currently working as an agent meaning he'll have a few contacts. Though whether he'd have us playing the right sort of Football I wouldn't know...... Can he still play left wing ?
stevesmitt
Can he still play left wing ? He still looked good in the charity match last month, better than we currently have anyway.

longtimeblue
This would be a good deal for all concerned. Alarm bells will be ringing in Cov though when Corney offers to take him down
codie
Peter Reid or Dowie. Would love to see Reid bring some guile and passion to the team.

24hoursfromtulsehill
I'm off work till Tuesday, so if they want me to take him down there, I'm more than willing to do so. I've got a seven seater so can also fit in Taggart, Butler, Simpson, Furman and Smith. Christ. It's almost like you don't actually like us. oafc1955
Wouldn't touch Ritchie or Dowie again but Reid would be a good shout!!!
oafc1955
Oh yeah,Reid would be amazing.....didn't he break everyone's hearts last season when he took away Warren Feeney .......our goal machine. He obviously knows a good player when he sees one!!!
Lee Sinnott
He also plucked Kevin Phillips from relative obscurity. So, yeah, I'd agree that he can spot a player.
oafcprozac
Would that be the Kevin Phillips that had a fairly decent record at Watford? (Almost 1 in 2)
laticdickovarmy
How long does Dickov have left on his current deal and what compo would we expect should he go?

Latics_Fanatic
How long does Dickov have left on his current deal and what compo would we expect should he go? I'd expect we'd get nominal amount.
4froale
isnt he on a rolling contract , gets renewed at the beginning of every week pr something like that ?? if that is the case i presume we would get nothing for him
laticdickovarmy
So if we did get rid then wouldn't cost us either?
mikejh45
Thought it was an annual rolling contract.
slystallone
So if we did get rid then wouldn't cost us either? Not quite - I believe how it works is that's it's classed as a 1 year rolling deal - i.e - he always has a 1 year contract until it is broken. We loose him to another club - we are settled at the rate of 1 year left on his contract We sack him - we have to pay him off for the 1 year deal

Yes, we'd get compensation based on a one year contract IF someone else wanted him but, given our recent track record of managers, why the :censored: would we bank on that?! Saying that, I'll be glad if it is true if Coventry are genuinely interested in him. They won't be though; why would they?

We get rid of him he gets the rest of the season (or possibly to June 30th) if someone comes in for him we get a year compensation. It would be easily doable I reckon.
