oafcprozac
Surely Blackburn have to take the lad back now? http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk//news/article/130912-slew-365026.aspx?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

I was quite surprised when he was returning to Blackburn for treatment but, hopefully, we now get to blame them for returning him with a broken back and claim compensation for doing so. ;) If Blackburn do simply cancel the deal, it'll be interesting to see how quickly SC allows PD to arrange for a replacement instead of using what we already have. Shame for Slew though.
the_mighty_bosh
He's not been here long enough to be deemed either a success or failure, hope for his sake this isn't an injury that keeps recurring. Surely we now have to be looking at a way of sending him back and replacing him? Or is Baxter the replacement? My Everton supporting housemate says he's more of a midfielder so hopefully we'll be able to get someone extra up front too.

Stevie_J
Surely Blackburn have to take the lad back now? http://www.oldhamath..._medium=twitter Why would they, if we didn't agree that, in the event of an injury, they should do so? oafcprozac
If we didn't agree that, and bearing in mind the deal has cost us money in (supposedly) in fees and wages then we really are managed and run by morons.

leeslover
I thought if a player you sign gets injured then the normal contractual position is, "tough titties."
Crusoe
The club's position might be 'fine, we'll keep him, but we're not paying top dollar for medical facilities or his rehabilitation'. Encourage Blackburn to take him back to protect their investment in him. It'd be high risk and potentially hurt our chances of loaning players from other clubs, mind. Monty Burns
He will go back, they had him back for treatment initially, so why would they now want our amatuer set up making him worse?

Hands on
It is clear! They are treating him but we are stuffed unless they call him back. Will the chickens do the right thing by us or is it another lesson for PD? Loans are risky. We need to build a team and play our own people and yes Smith has played better than anyone hoped. If Taylor is so good put the pair up front and see what our players can do - the ones that we expect to play for the shirt and not loans who idle around getting experience at our expense. I'm sorry for Slew but hope this is the last we see of him.

Did we give Blackburn a loan fee? Cause if we did think there's summat in the rules saying that the parent club can't recall him from his loan deal if they've recieved a loan fee for him.. opinions4u
Did we give Blackburn a loan fee? Cause if we did think there's summat in the rules saying that the parent club can't recall him from his loan deal if they've recieved a loan fee for him.. Fee or no fee he can't play for Blackburn (or anybody else) until the loan expires. Recall clauses only apply to : 1) Goalkeepers 2) Season long loans (and can only be applied in the January transfer window) The parent club will usually treat any significant injuries. So he can return to Blackburn, get fit, but the only club he can play for is Oldham Athletic.
