JoshOWTB
“@MENOAFC: Welcome to #oafc Matt Derbyshire.http://pic.twitter.com/RvjgC5Id” That was the tweet before it was deleted. Think MEN were supposed to wait for the official announcement....
Hands on
Interesting player who had shingles earlier this year so don't expect him to be fit! Quote from 'Vital Nottingham Forest' blog "When he joined the club he seemed genuinely happy and excited. He put in a couple of somewhat decent performances early on but his form dropped right about the time we started to look like a relegation side, and then he got shingles. The lad hasn't had a pre-season, hasn't had a run of games, and we have no proof that he has done anything other than get ill and injured. IMO IF (and it is a big if as the club has kept the fans completely in the dark about this and in turn set MD up to be a bit of a target which may not be fair [again, we don't know if he deserves our sympathy and respect or not] ), he is as committed as he seemed on signing, if he is enthusiastic and passionate about the game and performing for us, if he works towards getting fit and well in the next 2/3 months and has a full pre-season, then we've got potentially a very good striker at the club if we keep the likes of GMc, Reid, Majewski, Guedioura, and Dex in the side providing ammo. I will not write the lad off simply because the club hasn't told us one way or the other what is really going on here." Lets hope all goes well for us. opinions4u
Dickov has a knack of getting good players in. If he could get them to play together it would be really great!

JoshOWTB
6 weeks - 10 games a chance to kick start the season - We have 10 games in that period? Ok well I'll be happy the contribution he gives us gets 15 points from those games, himself to get a few goals and to hopefully get a few of the other players regularly scoring... oafc-latics
two good signings, we were lacking up front and now with Simpson, Montano, Croft, Baxter, Derbyshire, Furman, Smith... there's no reson why we won't score goals. Corney has backed Dickov to get these in, so will give him more than the 10 games he asked for. It's up to PD now

To enhance what Harry Bosch said, a routine case of shingles for a fit, young man, will affect their fitness for a similar amount of time as a routine case of flu. In terms of his fitness I'd be much more concerned about the fact he hasn't played this season.
