Lags
He is our skipper but should he walk straight back in? Edited October 19, 2012 by Lags
opinions4u
Yes. He's a better option than Simpson in midfield - if he's pushing on a bit.
pukka
If he's not fatigued then yes, PNE was our best performance for a long time.
Lags
It now seems likely that come January Furman will be away for an extended period. Possibly get the most out of him now. It doesn't seem in his make up but would he be keeping one eye on the African tournament during league one games?
UpTheLatics
Simpson was a libaility last Saturday. He showed his ability but he gave the ball away too many times. Furman starts.
Lags
The simpson vote seems split 50/50 from those that I've heard comment regarding the Sheffield game. Personally I thought he did ok and showed he wanted to get back in the side.
opinions4u
I wouldn't rule out shipping out Furman in January, using the wage to keep Baxter and SImpson dropping back in to midfield full time. But his passing does need to be crisper!
Bristolatic
Only the highlights of the Sheff utd game to go off, so can't make a judgement on that one, but based on his performance in the PNE game I don't see how you can leave Furball out. has to start for me unless he's completely jet lagged and knackered. AnthonyOAFC
Personally, has to start for me. Simpson doesn't look right in mid and therefore should be replaced by Furman who knows the role.
deckyd
He should walk back into Simpsons place 100%. Simpson last week in my opinion was the weakest cog in the team, seemed as though he was trying to run through tar and his touch at times is awful, bit of the taylor in him to as in a relationship with the floor! Thats why i think Furman should walk in. And he had a blinder vs Preston.
leeslover
Simpson isn't a midfielder. I could see him right up top if we passed rather than hoofed to him, or in the hole, but no further back
bluehobbit
Thought simpson was very good in midfield at sheff united. Gave the ball away a little bit but i dont think he was that bad. Id keep him in but as others have said if Furball is 100% and raring to go maybe put him back in I was more impressed with simpson in the middle than i have been with him as an out and out stiker hes strangths just dont add up to being a main forward
rudemedic
Fortunately Furman's travelling shouldn't have left him all that jet-lagged. Starts for me, he's the more natural midfielder if you want to compare him to Simpson. Plus he is on a run of form judging by the rave reviews he's been getting from Bafana Bafana fans and his performance against PNE.
oldhamains
Furman might also be getting over the news of South Africa assistant manager being killed last night. His car hit a donkey. RIP Thomas Madigage
beag_teeets
He's the captain, if he's fit and his head is in the right place after the above incident he starts. FACT.
opinions4u
He's the captain, if he's fit and his head is in the right place after the above incident he starts. FACT. Gonna happen then. Innit.
lancy lad
It shouldn't be a given, even if he is the captain. However, yes he should because he is a much stronger option than Simpson.
codie
Simpson has not been playing well this season and Furman is one of our better players week in week out.
philliggi
Furman starts for me. on another note, regarding the possible sale of furman in jan, how many teams will be put off by the fact he is possibly away for an extended period? personally cant see furman leaving us for a long time yet, but thats just me
eyres_28
Has to start. Alongside Wes the heartbeat of the team vs. PNE and so vital to the high-tempo game we MUST continue to play. I thought Simmo looked ok in midfield and loved the way he was slipped alongside Derbyshire as a targetman on goal kicks. Great option from the bench but Furman should start! Hands on
Why would Furman want to leave? He has achieved his goal of playing for Bafana Bafana and lets hope he returns with a winners medal. Any change would be a distraction.

eyres_28
Simmo starts. Think we'll see a definate 4-1-4-1 today. lots of movement in the forward 5. Wes has a lot to do but we trust in our stand in captain!!!
JoshOWTB
Interesting call from Dickov. Good sub to bring on if we need him, must be a bit tired still!
singe
Interesting that he chose not to bring him on. Great that we can afford to keep our captain on the bench and still win. Been a long time since we could afford to do that
