keep_the_faith
So would you expect us to pull 14k if we offered frre tickets instead of those £1 ticket offers weve put on in recent years? RobOAFC
Club should have put up a mini-stall selling tickets for tomorrow and saturdays game, and perhaps some scarfs/gloves/snoods on sale aswell. Prob would of brought in a bit of money.
oafcprozac
As thee was no beer tent, we should have brought in 1000s of Plastic Beer Glasses and opened the corner flag suite, and might have been a money-spinner to open the shop for an hour or two. All in all a good event, I think the club rented/offered the land out and the council did the rest from my understanding. However, wherever is held next year (hopefully BP car park will be out of use? ) a few pointers... ( 1 ) Have the pre-firework shows, DJ etc.. elevated on a stage ( 2 ) More food stalls, concession stands and rides ( 3 ) Beer Tent ( 4 ) Properly enforce the sparkler ban (A family right behind us (And I mean right behind us) hought it'd be fun to light a few up despite it being very crowded. Innocent mistake, but so, so dumb! As an event that has not been held for years, it was an encouraging attempt and needs building on now….to get it back to where it was. Lags
So would you expect us to pull 14k if we offered frre tickets instead of those £1 ticket offers weve put on in recent years? One, it didn't seem like 14K to me, maybe 14 K over the entire night not but not all at once that's for sure. Two, yes far more chance of pulling 14 K crowd for nowt rather than just 1 pound in. Sad but very very true.
opinions4u
Perhaps a few more events on that car park can bring in some extra cash for the club.

brad
Anyone think that we letting the council use our car park is a bit of bribe saying get the planning permission accepted or you won't use it again

oafcprozac
It can only help good relations. Not a bribe no. TBF once the stand is built and the car park landscaped and tarmaced there won't be the option of using it for events like last night. Lags
Getting off B&Q after the event was...shall we say 'slow'. The 50 something women ranting using as many F word connotations known to man whilst the meek Hubby sat silent to her side was worth the wait alone. Priceless. Monty Burns
The club did need a stall though, how did nobody think of that? Also hardly anybody could see the fire act. Quality fireworks though, so I was happy seeing as thats what we went for.
