If he plays, you have to make the team play to his strengths. Then you can win games.
laticdickovarmy
He is tough to play against. I like Smith he would be a dream for a poacher to play alongside ie a Derbyshire. Yes we know he has his faults like his lack of touch, vision, not mobile etc but you throw the ball up against any CB for him and im confident that 75% of the time he will win it. We play far to deep and need to get bodies in and around and that means people running from deep in midfield as that makes them harder to track. mikeleylandoafc
Aside from the sending off, and the ref looking like he enjoyed Christmas a bit too much, it's nice to see the ref giving Smith a bit of protection. No way he would have got that pen against Crewe as he was being penalised for everything.
Stevie_J
Unbelievably bad defending in the earlier clips. Amazed that was given as a penalty - very soft. Lovely execution by Baxter again, though. Can't really see that Wesolowski did anything wrong. There's certainly no stamp.
JoshOWTB
Not even sure what happened with that pen, lucky it went in or everyone would be saying Baxter is :censored: this week. Was the first attempt by them offside? Looked to me like it went over the line before our players kicked the ball away. The Scunthorpe player reacted terribly to the challenge from Wes, but definitely looked like he purposely had a little dig. Think a red may be quite harsh, on another day it may of just been a yellow or a foul but I doubt we would've got that overturned at appeal. Good point considering we went two goals down, shame we went two goals down!

They cost us 6 games for Wes and KMB, maybe we should try doing it??

No way he would have got that pen against Crewe as he was being penalised for everything. The odd thing for the pen was that the ref had let a lot of stuff go until then (and after). It was good to see to be honest, Smith and his CB were climbing all over each other and clattering into each other and the ref didn't give anything to either of them. It was a refreshing change from a ref blowing every time somebody breathed too heavily near an opponent.

Next time go left or right with power- keepers do their research and whoever it is will probably stay in the middle...

If Slocombe had done his research he would have stayed still - he'd chipped against Carlisle and said after Pools he was planning on chipping but changed his mind at the last minute meaning he should have stuck to his guns and chipped. He was always going to chip the next one!

They cost us 6 games for Wes and KMB, maybe we should try doing it?? They did but like someone has already said KMB's tackle was appalling and then he punched someone in the head, he was slightly fortunate to only get banned for 5 games. Still think the Scunny player who grabbed him round the throat should have gotten punished more than he did, though. Yeovil did the same to Simmo before Xmas too. IIRC we weren't exactly angels when a bad challenge by a Notts County player happened in September. It's a sad sign of the way things are progressing in football but I think we do similar to other clubs given the opportunity.

JohnnyPimp
The reactions shown by Changy and Grounds suggest that this was expected from Wes. He does like his petulant reactions.
