LeylandLatic
"Matches include West Ham United vs Manchester United, Brighton vs Newcastle United, Southampton vs Chelsea" I mean really could they be any more retarded in their game selection? They've got Scum on even though they were on live (?) earlier anyway, then their token giant killing, then back to the next highest place Prem side who are also facing another Prem side. You have the Macc game, ours, Crawley against Reading (despite the result), Bournemouth away at Wigan or Blackpool away at Fulham that would all be much better choices and actually in the spirit of what the 3rd round is about. But no just pick the games that we're already gonna see twice this season anyway that no neutral really gives a :censored: about, good idea. :censored: you, ITV. Stevie_J
Brighton v Newcastle was televised too, wasn't it?
singe
ITV news just included a top selection, saying highlights later look away, and our result was on, Prob means an extra 5 seconds.

singe
What an insightful pair Strachan and Townsend are. Lovely to see players you have never heard off, long names, three double barrelled names. They cpuld have someone who at least knows lower league football. Ritchierich
As suspected, quick show of the goals and a few comments on the managers and then back to the big clubs...do these twats realise it is the FA Cup?
steveoafc
Bloody hell, the bare minimum they could show. Still enjoyed it though!
singe
Think this clip of Kyles is actually longer than ITV showing all 3!!! http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40530entry586800

Latic76
ITV don't really have much of a choice regarding the highlights. They have to show the longest highlights of the most supported clubs to have the most amount of people watching due to the channel being funded by the adverts etc. I remember a while ago moaning about ITV always showing scum on mid week Champions League days and was told this is the reason. Utd having the largest amount of fans in UK.... Such a shame that a sh*t channel being run like that gets the coverage of a competition where it's more about the fans of the small clubs..... Oh well.....
opinions4u
They play a balancing game to maximise viewers and advertising revenue. Second division losing to third division isn't very interesting interesting in the great scheme of things.
jimsleftfoot
In all fairness we wouldn't have got any longer as the extended highlights matches are decided before the day and payments are made accordingly. The televised games are easy for them because they don't have to pay out for the highlights for them. Analysis was crap though.
24hoursfromtulsehill
The analysis was crap, but the weirdest thing was the sitting-in-a-room-in-London voiceover summary. Example: if Matt Smith deserved more punishment for his first-half own goal, it was dished out by [the Forest defender], whose goal-saving tackle cost him his place on the field. What the :censored: is that supposed to mean? Note to ITV: if you put an infinite number of monkeys in a room with an infinite number of typewriters and pay them peanuts per word, they'll come up with something better than that nonsense. bossrocks
I don't mind that we don't get much TV time but it'd be nice to see better highlights online. It surely can't cost them much and they could make us sit through a couple of minutes of adverts first if they need to raise more revenue.
