sjk2008
Word on the street is that we've offered City the opportunity to buy out the sell on clause we have on Micah Richards. Change in stance from when we refused such an offer a while back. I wouldn't want anything less than a million.

opinions4u
What are we negotiating with here? City know if he's likely o be sold or not. They have the Royal Flush in their hand. If a sale is likely they will offer us something that is less than we would get a few weeks later. If a sale isn't going to happen they will tell us to do one. Word on the street Which street? Now there's guaranteed money from the cup run we can call their bluff.

But how do you know if they have a royal flush, they might be bluffing ?... they don't hold all the cards now.

Crusoe
Now there's guaranteed money from the cup run we can call their bluff. If we've offered them a chance to buy the clause out, then they know we want the money. The ball's very definitely in their court unfortunately. The only way we'd be holding them over a barrel is if Richards was playing regularly and superbly, and they could see his value increasing. He isn't, and it isn't, and we've said we're prepared to take the cash.
BP1960
They do, because they know if they're going to sell him or not. Going off recent incidents at the club they haven't much idea of who's coming or going.
PlayItLivo
[ I'd be mighty impressed if Corney could bluff his way to victory against a royal flush. No but by putting the offer out there could give some insight on whether they're planning on selling him, in poker terms, sometimes you'll raise with a losing hand, just to see what the opponent is playing. ;)
leeslover
The only way we'd be holding them over a barrel Sheikh Mansour isn't short of the odd barrel or two...
