daveoafc91
Contract terminated at derby!!!! http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/derby-cancel-croft-contract-631766.aspx
NewBlue
Could that mean that he now isn't an Oldham player? We have him on loan but now he's a free agent surely he's available for a free transfer from any club. Wardie
Why is it that we have to get more bad news to go along with the injuries? Bloody typical Latics.
the_mighty_bosh
Does this mean we're getting him on a permanent deal? He's disappointed a little bit but it won't be easy to replace his 9 assists. Hope he comes back!
GlossopLatic
Interesting its all happening at Boundary park tonight possible permanent signing coming in
disjointed
Could that mean that he now isn't an Oldham player? Yes he had his loan spell ended so they could terminate his contract. now a free agent
GlossopLatic
He's probably signing for QPR every other bugger is
danoafc
His loan stint was ended by Derby in order to terminate his contract. Effectively now a free agent.
Mark Jameson
far as im aware he's now a free agent
bossrocks
Interesting one. Hopefully its just a formality - Croft gets a nice tax-free severance, Derby get him off their books and he stays with us at the same cost as before.
Wardie
Well, he is a free agent, so it could be a possibility...unless some other club has come in for him/agent touted him around etc.
Chaddyender2
We will probably sign him till end of season
NewBlue
What was his wage structure here? Were Derby subsidising his wages or were we paying the full amount? If they were contributing then we might not have the funds available to keep him here.
GlossopLatic
Harry Redknapp has just been seen driving round the Lookers car park
disjointed
Im sure that the club knew this was happening and perhaps had 1st option on him, but the silence is deafening.
BP1960
He won't want to miss out on the Everton game surely .

If they were contributing then we might not have the funds available to keep him here. I understood they were paying a significant chunk of his wages, c80%, but that could of course be bollocks. palmer1
if he is a free agent then he does not have to sign for anyone tonight does he? as he is not contracted to anyone he does not have to sort something in the next few hours? opinions4u
I would think Latics knew this was coming.

Wardie
The lack of activity or news on the official site is pretty bad.
bossrocks
I understood they were paying a significant chunk of his wages, c80%, but that could of course be bollocks. I'd imagine he got a decent severance package to compensate him for the remaining months on his contract. Up to £30k severance is tax free so there's scope for negotiation between club and player to come up with something mutually beneficial in these situations. So, in theory, he could afford to stay with us on reduced terms, at least until the end of the season.
Frankly Mr Shankly
To be honest, I've been fairly disappointed with him this time round anyway. Decent game Sunday but far too often he's just been poor. Does need replacing quick-smart if he goes elsewhere though. Will probably sign on a 6 month-er I expect. stargazer
unless he signs for us , we re now without 5 of the starting line up from Sunday for differing reasons ......unbelievable.
