PlayItLivo
5 clean sheets in the league all season is the reason why we are where we are. Worst oldham defence since......ever. Forget all this "our attack should score more", wins start from the back, if you're conceding goals every week, you lose games.
Oh Heck C-Beck
I doubt many teams at this level keep clean sheets every week.
NewBlue
More likely more because we're second lowest scorers in the league. The defence is as porous as it is because they have the pressure of knowing that if we concede we will probably lose.
stargazer
Score very goals in addition to inability to keep clean sheets is the problem.
PlayItLivo
More likely more because we're second lowest scorers in the league. The defence is as porous as it is because they have the pressure of knowing that if we concede we will probably lose. Every time we've kept a clean sheet we've won. Our attack are more than capable of scoring a goal. Stop leaking goals, and we can build from the back and improve the attack. Easy to guess what position our manager played as a player Edited February 2, 2013 by PlayItLivo

stargazer
Few alternatives . When did Tarkowski last even got off the bench for the last couple of minutes ? How bad is this foot injury ?
Hands on
Defence was good enough until we lost 2 0 to Colchester, we only conceded one against Notts County but otherwise it is two or more each game. At first it was lack of goals now we can't defend against league 1 teams as well. If we drop into the bottom four it is going to be very hard to get out. Attitude and tactics - nothing changes. ritchie82
Byrne and Tarky are as quick and mobile as a wheeliebin. Mvoto is a beast he needs a mobile centre half next to him. Byrne is so slow its unreal, 2 of the goals today highlight that big time.

PlayItLivo
I'd actually take Hazell back until the end of the season, he'll be nowhere near as shot as Murray is
Laticacid
Christ it's bad when 35 year old Ruben Hazel is mentioned , he was error prone when he could still run , god knows what he d be like now . A new right sided defender is a must though , to cover full and centre back
laticdickovarmy
I thought JYM was our best player today and I like Byrne but he is ridiculously slow, I would brought tarky in a long time ago but he won't and he hasn't played a competive games for months so will be rusty now Could tarky play right back Tuesday?? Not ideal but he has leadership qualities at least
Stainrod
The only option we have for Tuesday Is Byrne to right back and Tarky in the centre. I suspect he will go with Brown again though to give him chance to settle, bit of a risk in the current dogfight though.
stargazer
Not convinced one bit on how fit Tarks currently is , when did he actually last play fo the first time rather than warm the bench ?

His distribution was one of of the worst I have seen from a centre half in 38 years of watching Latics!! No thank-you.

john1234
Tarky has played the last two reserve games and by all accounts had a real good game against Walsall marking a seasoned pro so i should imagine he's fit to play. As for the back four Dickov has really never given anyone else a chance, you only have to look at the stats especially the last nine league games to see where the blame lies. As everyone knows Dickov and his Apostles. Lets hope the next manager gives everyone a fair chance even if they are young. If your good enough your old enough.
