pinevillawill
Yep, Richard Askam from the BBC reckons the club have offered Dowie the job.
4froale
richard askam@richaskamClub not confirming but Oldham have made an offer to a manager. I understand it is Iain Dowie #oafc #latics

lancy lad
Lets hope its true. Just heard it myself, I reckon Dowie has unfinished business with us and would be better than the likes of Coleman, Brown or Knill!

Daboke
Happy if true - This guy is great at managing players. And he gets them fit. Crofty may lose a few pounds as long as he doesn't steal too many jelly babies from Dowie (I believe he gives them out before a game for energy?!???) jsslatic
If it is Dowie, I hope he'd be able to bring Smith along. Dickov is a completely different type of striker to Smith. Plus they can give each other tips on scoring own goals.
the_mighty_bosh
Aye, don't think Knill or Brown are right for the club. If you look at our goal scoring form this season, Knill would be very well suited to the club.

Plus they can give each other tips on scoring own goals. I think Smith would improve under Dowie's tutelage. Similar types of striker and I'm pretty sure that Dowie would have seen enough of the way that Smith bullied Skrtel and Coates to know that there is a good basis to work from.
