NewBlue
His goal distracted us from his overall performance today I think. Personally I thought he was really poor but Barnard's quality and movement compensated for Iwelumo's slugishness. He missed a couple of good chances which he ought to have got on target but was a nuisance to their defence in general. Would you start him over Matt Smith (if he's back for Everton) or would you stick with the same team that won convincingly today? They're both similar players so it must be a judge of quality. Which one is better?
oldhamains
Harsh. Thought he did ok.
Lukers1
Smith all day long for the Everton game, he deserves it and is going to be up for it. Iwelumo was a dissapointment today and I thought we carried him in parts, Smith gets stuck in and had a point to prove, Iwelumo is a jouneyman. ChrisA
He was alright today. Part of a front 4 who caused them all sorts of problems for the first hour. Definitely a useful player for us to have.
dbaines_971
Very slow
BP1960
Looked a bit short of match practice, but some of his link play was very good.
JoeP
He didn't really seem to move much and didn't bother jumping for a couple high balls put in his direction. Maybe his fitness is down a bit. Be harsh to pick on him after such a good win, though..
welshgaz
Thought he did well. Better in the deck than smith but not as good in the air. Will be a good acquisition.
Twisbrogan
In the scrap we're in, he'll be a huge asset on and off the pitch.
adamoafc
What you need to see is his brings players into the game with his hold up play. He is very similar to smith but I would say he is more experienced and knows how to play in this league. Smith for everton I think though. Craig D
I'd go with Smith if he's fit. Proved what he's capable of vs Liverpool and deserves it. Iwelumo hardly moved today and when he did it was incredibly slow. Also should have done better with the chance early in the second half. opinions4u
He is what he is. A big lump who will in headers. Not untalented with his feet. Horribly slow. Barnard looked good playing off him.
Lookers_Carl
I thought he did well. He is what he is at the end of the day, a target man built like a brick :censored: house who can win you the flick ons, not easily bullied off the ball. BenRad
The way he holds his ground to win his flick ons was impressive, very slow though!
sykelatic1
I agree that he didnt have much pace but he was vocal - which is something the team desperately needs , he encouraged and guided those around him which is a big plus point for me. no1laticsfan
How can anyone say he did ok. He was crap. I didn't see him jump once. His strength was nothing compared to the size of him. He had a good chance shooting against the chaddy end but hit it well wide. Matt smith anyday. Even the matt smith I used to think was crap. Slash
Thought he held it up well and will have benefited from 90 minutes. Will only improve hopefully.
marhar
He's not the most mobile but if you hit the ball at him it sticks, I thought he played well today and deserved his goal. A little flat footed after the hour mark but looked a good target man for Barnard and Baxter to play off.
ddot_m
I thought he showed enough. Any striker that scores in a game has done enough and his link up play with Barnard after only a week of training is excellent - hell of an asset. adrianpshaw
Looked a bit short of match practice, but some of his link play was very good. Nail on the head for me. I think he has quality which is hindered slightly by his lack of match practice. I think he will be a level head for us over the coming weeks! OAFC_ULTRA
I thought he played well. His link up play with others was better than smith but smith is still learning. The main difference overall is we had two players upfront today. Barnard's movement caused problems and gave Iwelumo someone to aim for. How often do we see smith flick the ball on to no one as he is usually the furthest man forward. I think saying he was crap is harsh imo

Which one is better? I will have to completely disagree, I think he is much better than Smith. Similar type of player but his play had purpose, rather than just randomly flicking it on, he was comfortable with the ball at his feet and was involved in some good passing moves. His movement was also much better than Smiths.
GlossopLatic
He was doing alot of talking on the pitch today and I think thats whats been missing at times this season someone whos going to gee everyone up and get them talking on the pitch he was encouraging that. I will reserve judgement on him a little he looked pretty slow which is kind of expected for a mid 30's player maybe more pitch time but he gives us experience and leadership on the pitch which is something that has been missing at times this season. stargazer
Pluses Won a lot of headers , took his goal well & holds the ball well. Negative Not very mobile.
