iamjonesyyoafc
I honestly felt I was a shoe in for permanent manager, evidently not... If they're reading this, I'd like to thank Neil Joy and Simon Corney for the opportunity. Edited February 12, 2013 by iamjonesyyoafc

JoeP
Always wondered - When clubs like Latics boast to the media that they've "had over 40 applications for their vacant managers post", whether they include applications like this in that figure? iamjonesyyoafc
Yeah I am but after an email correspondence with Corney they gave me an interview, focusing more on the possibility of working on the administration side of the club in the future I think. Diego_Sideburns
Yeah I am but after an email correspondence with Corney they gave me an interview, focusing more on the possibility of working on the administration side of the club in the future I think. A story about a supporter getting an interview for the Team Manager's job would interest the 'Hawksbee & Jacobs' programme on TalkSport Radio, particularly while waiting for the new manager announcement. Could even make the rarely-wrong Chron....... next month.

Latics and England
How about we don't contact Talksport. Call me boring but I'd rather we didn't invite the press to turn us into a laughing stock.
Diego_Sideburns
How about we don't contact Talksport. Call me boring but I'd rather we didn't invite the press to turn us into a laughing stock. Boring! A human interest story about a Club encouraging a young supporter, rather than dismissing him out of hand. What's to laugh at?

Agree. Don't see any harm in it at all. Why would we be looked at like a laughing stock? Some people need to lighten up abit.

Latics and England
Boring! A human interest story about a Club encouraging a young supporter, rather than dismissing him out of hand. What's to laugh at? That's the reality of it. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the angle they would choose to focus on.

I can see the media twist now... "Desperate Oldham: Latics runs to fans to fill manager position!" It'll be that or something more Corney... Diego_Sideburns
That's the reality of it. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the angle they would choose to focus on. That particular programme takes the 'genuinely interested' angle, which makes it a good listen, rather than the Talk:censored:e programmes. Diego_Sideburns
Wait till they film me selling blue FA Cup gingerbread men at the top of Sheepfoot Lane The Police will film you if your Street Trader's Permit is issued by a London Borough. I think they just pluck a figure out of mid-air to put pressure on the serious contenders during negotiations.
leeslover
B if your Street Trader's Permit is issued by a London Borough. I was reading about this area the other day but was diverted by doing some work by reading up about the coppers' rights. May put this right shortly
