Magic Mikey
Bearing in mind our temporary lowly position in the third tier and Everton riding high in the top flight, have we ever beaten a team so many places above us on the league ladder? Lukers1
Liverpool was our biggest ever cup upset
lancy lad
Liverpool was a miles bigger scalp IMO. Forget league positions, they are much bigger than their neighbours and 5 times European champions to boot.

Latics and England
I'd argue that beating Everton at Goodison was the biggest upset. To win away at a top 6 Premiership club is an amazing achievement. Not that this plays down the Liverpool win in any way. The QF win at the Etihad will dwarf any of them though. Magic Mikey
Saturday is my daughter's 16th birthday, we are currently with my wife's family in Scarborough and are all going out for a big family meal. My eldest son was 18 yesterday and it is my father in law's birthday on the 18th. All that is, apart from my youngest son and me who are heading back for the game. I am getting stick and this is part of my justification.
jimsleftfoot
Liverpool is the bigger win by far. The Everton win doesn't get mentioned much even when the media talk about us specifically but I reckon the Liverpool win will be talked about as one of the biggest FA Cup upsets. JonesyOAFC
Liverpool is the bigger win by far. Is it? Maybe if you take club size into account, but if we're going off the ability of both teams a win against Everton would be a bigger achievement, definitely. NewBlue
7 European titles collectively, we've beaten so far. Though Everton are a better side they're not a bigger scalp; it will certainly be harder than Liverpool though.
jsslatic
If it was at the same stage then Liverpool but if we win on Saturday then a place in the last eight tips it.
welshgaz
Win Saturday and it eclipses the Liverpool game for me. Everton will be a tougher prospect too.

Luis Enrique
I'm sure someone will trawl the history books to check this one. in terms of this season though, Liverpool are the bigger name but everton is definitely the tougher game. davegtt
League positions yes but Im thinking the 3-1 Arsenal win was by far the best I can recollect as an Oldham fan. Possibly the best evening ever as my dad took me in the players lounge after the game, brilliant

It was the start of the glory years too.

davegtt
Ok, what positions where Oldham and Man City in in our recent victory? Im not sure but City surely had to be top 6? And Im not 100% ( I kill my braincells with alcohol too much for memories) but was it not the year we beat Bradford to stay up on the last day, its got to be around that time either way. Be close in league positions.
dave_ragg1984
I think, if I remember right: When we beat City in 05 there were 50 league places between us and them. When we beat Everton in 08 there were 53 league places between us and them. When we beat Liverpool t'other week there were 57 league places between us and them. It's a bigger gap on Saturday. Maybe if you take club size into account, but if we're going off the ability of both teams a win against Everton would be a bigger achievement, definitely. Things could change by the end of the season and Liverpool are last years FA Cup finalists and beat Everton in the semi final and are a bigger scalp. Saying that, if we do beat Everton, I will agree with you
