Frankly Mr Shankly
This coming Good Friday is the launch of Rebellion at The Junction Inn, on Rippendon Road. Rebellion is a no-beating-around-the-bush classic indie disco. OK, 'indie' is an often doled out blanket term for all-sorts lately but our hearts are on our sleeve when it comes to what we'll be playing. Big anthemic hits with the odd "where the :censored: did this come from" thrown in too is the best I can describe this right now. Best of all, it's only £1 to get in and of course, plenty of OAFC fans will already have The Junction on their radar thanks to the fine regular gigs they put on there. Think of it as the perfect place to celebrate Latics reaching safety after getting back from Swindon Town! Rebellion @ The Junction Inn Friday 26th March 8pm until late £1.00 entry. Click on the poster below to go to the Facebook events page and register your interest. Leave abny song requests on there too please! PlayItLivo
Sounds good....well apart from Madness, Libertines and the Clash. Bit of Ride, MBV, the Charlatans and Verve and it looks a lot more appealing, Still, very tempted!
Zorrro
Presumably FMS wants people dancing and singing, not staring moodily at their shoes.

You can use the times I play Clash, Madness and Libertines as opportunities to nip for a piss.
Roger Ritchie
I' m not into Madness - The sell outs of ska but the rest of them would do for me. Still got a bone to pick with that Suggs for being a roadie for Skrewdriver.

And I never knew that about Suggs. I always thought he was a bit of a lefty happy skinhead type.

Roger Ritchie
Read that on the internet, did you? Load of :censored:. Never read it on the internet. My uncle was a roadie for a few bands at the same time. Suggs never denies it. Just makes every effort to confrm that it was before they became a blood and honour band and when they were just a reggae/ska cross. Roger Ritchie
Hey! You beatniks stop fannying around. You're both coming aren't you? ;) If I'd have realised it was his favourite band I wouldn't have said owt sir! I'm in Istanbul for the first. Might have a look at getting to the other two. Yard Dog
Sure, this is only a thread on a League One football club messageboard, but it's pretty nasty stuff, throwing around things like that. Unless, of course, you're Uncle can back it up, then fair enough - I'm sure a lot of people would be very interested in hearing his version of events. Takemeanywhere
No OCS? No Stones? Come on guys We couldn't fit the name of every band ever formed on the poster. There will, of course, be more bands played than is on the poster. The night is gonna last for at least five hours... The DJ has also promised to have slips of paper for requests...just no karaoke, ok?
Frankly Mr Shankly
No OCS? No Stones? Come on guys Stones is actually on the poster. Although its positioning isn't great; ST ONES! Like Takemeout says, it's a good 5+ hours of music, dancing and hearing the odd belting tune that you'd never thought you'd hear in a disco. I'll have OCS on me, so if it gets requested it'll probably get played. I'll also note down the entire playlist and post it here so those that can't make it can have a gander and get a feel for the night too. Really looking forward to it. It's going to be a great night. peter_headen
Didn't Mark Radcliffe play drums with Skrewdriver? I' m not into Madness - The sell outs of ska but the rest of them would do for me. Still got a bone to pick with that Suggs for being a roadie for Skrewdriver.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Didn't Mark Radcliffe play drums with Skrewdriver? He did but apparently it was before they became the nonsensical white power outfit most people know them for. Radcliffe really doesn't strike me as that type having listened to him for many years.
