bigfatjoe1
Think I might die laughing, if it turns out to be Dowie after all of this nonsense... Thought that a few minutes ago. I think i'd piss myself. Still, it doesn't take anything away from the fact that we're in the :censored:, the backroom staff were sacked at New year and SC has only just made up his mind. Poor leadership based on the hope that a cheap stop-gap would save a few pennies.
Ritchierich
Would self-immolation in front of the main stand just before kick off on Tuesday be an overreaction or should I just get behind the team?
KYLEOAFC
If its lee johnson he can have my season ticket and i will gladly take the ban. Seriously where are our standards? This has got to be a wind up? What can he do to motivate our bunch of gutless wonders? The players dont care with tp in charge let alone johnson jnr. How many of our starting 11 will be here next year? If this is true hand on heart I will not be getting a st or turning up again until corney is gone. How can you critically judge somebody so quickly? I can understand your frustration if he takes us down and we go onto a bad year in League 2 but the guy hasn't even started working and he's the worst appointment possible. Would you feel the same if Dowie came into charge and led is down and we had a bad year in League 2? Ambition is not just bringing in the biggest name possible on the highest wage, it's wanting to progress further and if Corney thinks this is the most effective way then it's not a signing where we have no standards. I'm sure there were bigger names out there when Fergie was made United manager, Wenger Arsenal manager, Eddie Howe made Bournemouth manager, Gary Johnson as Yeovil manager...I'm not trying to say the idea is logical because it frankly isn't in our situation but at least give the man a chance. KYLEOAFC
My main concern is simon corney has had time to think long and hard about this appointment and if this is true which as you can guess i am finding it hard to believe then its a clear sign to me that sc is grossly inept on football matters or hes resigned to the fact its a cost saving measure for if we get relegated thats best. we talked about dickov having experience alongside him for decisions but who the hell is advising corney if we are to believe this rubbish? Seriousley if i am to back a manager and his plan then i want to know what the owners is first to make sense of this farce. BP1960
We don't know his back room staff yet, could well be an 'old head' among them. Hang on to the season ticket, there's not many matches left now and you have probably suffered more in the past than you will during the remaining home games. KYLEOAFC
I refuse to believe its johnson. Corney cant be that naive again. It would make him the biggest hypocrite in football taking all his statements into account since pd went.
Hands on
If Corney did nothing we were going to be relegated. He has now appointed a new manager. If we protest and complain at the match it will have a bad effect on the players and make it likely that we will still go down. Anybody who supports our club has to support the appointment and the players in the hope that he can make a team out of them. If we are still relegated then you can complain, then you will have reason to complain.
KYLEOAFC
The FACT we are in the relegation zone with a chairman who is naive on making footballing appointments is why we should protest now!!!! (if this johnson rumour is true)

Nohairdontcare
Any protest in any form will achieve and mean nothing positive for Latics. If people individually chose not to attend, that is their right. But it won't achieve anything positive for the club. I know it costs good money to follow Latics, and it can mean years of frustration and annoyance. But I respect those who attend week in week out. I believe there's a core group that'll do that no matter who's in charge. I respect and appreciate those supporters. As much as I am underwhelmed by the probable Lee Johnson appointment, now - in my opinion - is not the time for protests.
SholverBlue
Corney said he'd go if we go down. If we stay up then appointing Lee Johnson wasn't a failure. Surely a win win situation for Kyle? If we was a financially stable club I'd be happy to see us in League 2 truth be told.

(if this johnson rumour is true) A rarity. A capital letters FACT that is true. As for a protest, save it until the end of the season. Whether or not you agree with the appointment. Chelsea fans look like dicks. Blackburn fans :censored:ed up their season. Get behind the new man and see what he can do with that shower of :censored: masquerading as professional footballers. Off the field protests and distractions are the last thing we need now. (If you do refuse to come to anymore games, please could I have your season ticket? I have a good cause who could benefit from it)
KYLEOAFC
I wont be protesting at games etc as that would be negative for the team. However i will stop going week in week out. wont make a bit of difference to sc hes already had my money it just means I will have my saturdays back to do what i want without the feeling of being ripped off. I hope its all a smoke screen and not lj.
mikeroyboy
There are a couple of things we could do if we want to make relegation more likely. AND ANY SORT OF PROTEST AT BOUNDRY PARK IS ONE OF THEM.

(if this johnson rumour is true) Won't achieve a bean sir. Rather we didn't fanny around looking like idiots and tried to help the team stay up. Corney isn't going to suddenly bring in Mourinho and spend £10m on the team if 50 people start waving banners and acting like c**ts.
Roger Ritchie
Spending a tenth of our unexpected cup bonus would've probably got in someone decent. My take is we're not prepared to spend it rather than not afford it. That money won't last forever.

Ok he wasn't the name on everyone's lips, but after the shower we've had to endure over the last few seasons you're choosing to walk away now rather than give the guy a chance. I'm actually quite optimistic he has higher coaching badges than our previous appointments, been fast tracked by the FA, seems to have a clear plan, and has already identified our weaknesses. He also seems to have many contacts in the game and by all accounts comes highly recommended.
