BP1960
Based on the improvement to Croft and Mellor from improved fitness and diet - perhaps we should be trying to find good but over weight footballers that can be LJ'd into better players (Croft did a chunk - word chosen purposely - of it pre-LJ though). Is there a fatty list? Andy Reid, not a bad player; http://www.footballfancast.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Andy-Reid-300x214.jpg Edited April 30, 2013 by BP1960

butchcass
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22371882 This guy must know Cliff Byrne from his time at Scunny. In fact, they were having a good chinwag on the pitch after the final whistle the other week. BBC article says he's 29 where as when they signed him, according to their previous article, he was 31! Awesome.

Awesome. I'd think he is 31. I'd also think he might be quite expensive as its fairly obvious Crawley wanted to keep him but couldn't afford him. oldhamoafc
Aaron Maclean is out of contract, I know LJ tried going in for him before Barnard came but hull said no. Once again thought probably to expensive and out of our league!

Unfortunately you may be right and we probably couldn't afford him. Crawley may have offered him reduced terms though, given his age. He was only on the bench when they played us. He's got 2 League One promotions on his CV (and a spell in prison!). Here's an old scouting report from the amazingly trustworthy Steve Claridge which compares him to Paul Scholes! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/may/01/newsstory.scunthorpe

Maybe without Simmo and Barnards wages we could afford him.

rudemedic
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11719/8687521/Scunthorpe-release-seven I rated that Hawley when he played at BP, but I'd guess the reason they've dumped him (as he was their second top scorer) is he isn't cheap. Lukers1
Hawley has lost it, although 11 in 39 aint bad, but id expect more from a striker,

Will end up in Championship I reckon, though Edited May 6, 2013 by singe
4froale
kisnorbo or bromby at centre half would be decent although they would have to take a massive pay cut to join, similar with somma although can we afford to take on someone with an injury record like his?
