Latics_Fanatic
The telegraph are reporting that Sir Alex Ferguson is considering retiring at the end of the season. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10042798/Sir-Alex-Ferguson-considering-retiring-as-Manchester-United-manager-before-end-of-the-week.html With Moyes all but certain to leave Everton by the end of the season, i reckon it might be him stepping up. Anyhow, LJ is looking for an assistant, so you never know, Fergie has a few contacts in the game, Scholes might even play for us, finally. As i say, not really Latics releated, but big news over this dull summer, probably detracts from oafc19's threads anyway!

Latics_Fanatic
Announce it on Saturday to totally overshadow Man City in the FA Cup. There's always a way of silencing the so-called "Noisey Neighbours" It's a very different situation and is a massive change for football, his record is unprecedented and dare i say it, with football management and job instability the way it is now, it will never be repeated. As much of a :censored: he is, he is a great manager and has always had the ability to pick a great player.

Word is SAF needs to go into hospital with his hip sharpish, so he won't be there come next season.

I don't think NHS waiting lists apply to that old socialist.

I think he is due to go in now LL to be fair, the recovery/rehab etc for a 70-odd y-o might be the reason why he can't get back or be involved. Lots of people return to work after a hip replacement, Fergie is likely to be in better shape than a decent percentage of them.

My wife has had 2 hip replacements, they get you walking within days to avoid DVT. Incidentally, if anyone is thinking of having an NHS hip op, Wrightington Hospital, Wigan is the place to go, It wouldn't surprise me if that's where Fergie will have his done (although I imagine he will be a private patient). He seems to have lost his Socialist priinciples along the way, acquiring a penchant for fine wine too. Nothing wrong with it, but why pretend you are something you are not. the_mighty_bosh
lol, was Penney the worst for signing duffers though ? While Ronnie made some very good signings in Wellens, Porter, Beckett and Liddell he signed an awful lot of duffers too. Scott, Forbes, Day and Branston to name a few. I remember him playing and scoring an OG in Talbots last game
