RoytonLatics
Didn't we sign an old bloke to play at CB for the last few games of the season at some point in the last few years? Can't remember his name for the life of me. Aljofree?? Although I didn't think he was that old
LaticsPete
Didn't we just have a thread about oldest players at Latics?
byrnes boots
Signing to be announced at 8am tomorrow. Lot of signs pointing to Dayton. From official: What says its dayton http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130519-newsigning-827639.aspx
Stevie_J
How old was Grobbelaar, 40?
Stevie_J
I think the suggestion is that, as we're announcing at 8am on the Monday after the Scottish Prem season finished and Dayton is publicly saying his goodbyes to Killy, the club LJ has just left, it looks likely. adamoafc
http://twitter.com/jamesdayton10/status/278512274107412481/photo/1 Seemed to spend his time with LJ at killie, this was taken off James daytons twitter.
BP1960
Didn't we just have a thread about oldest players at Latics? No idea that's why I asked the question, like most I haven't got the patience to trawl through past threads,
GravityGrave
Cureton was a class act. Was it him and Hayles at Bristol Rovers when they beat us 4-0 at home? Ran the show. Wouldn't be chuffed at the prospect of him coming as a 37 year old though. Jason Roberts
Ross2509
Would be happy with Dayton, he's a good player it's just he's a little injury prone which is a concern. Keep him fit and he could be a really good player for us. Gros on the other hand, I do not want.

longtimeblue
Know nothing of him and he doesn't seem to have played many games for a 24 year old. A good sign that he turmed down a 3 year deal and Kilmarnock fans are disappointed though. Edited May 20, 2013 by longtimeblue
Midsblue
The good news is that we're getting in early on the recruitment front and not waiting on those who played for us last season who are debating whether to accept the contacts on offer. First two acquisitions both look exciting, attack-minded and come with some very positive reviews where other fans want to sign them too. In the desert of close season only faced with work, rain not sun and a holiday that's still weeks away then I could do with something positive on the footy front to keep me going. slystallone
So - on the face of it, pleased with this signing. He fits the LJ brief doesnt he? Pace, good age, plenty to prove and LJ can be sure of his character as he knows him well. Seen the stuff in YouTube and he looks a bag of tricks. Chalk on his boots type. I do wonder where this leaves Montano though? If he's off; I hope we recoup some or all of the fee we paid out. Anyhow - welcome to BP James. All the best
Simoncorneyisgod
2 players in so far both on 2 year contracts ......a great sign that LJ is looking beyond the immediate.......something new for OAFC following the recent turnaround of players I've not looked forward to a season so much for a very long time! All the best We need depth if finances permit but this is the excitement of a new manager, new ideas and ambitions - a new starting eleven, formation and tactics come August... remaining upbeat, we could rip the opposition a new one next season with loads of pressing, running, crosses and goals... just need another striker if Clarke-Harris isn't due to start

deyres42
Wouldn't be that surprised if we are happy to listen to offers for Montano, if not though I can see him being used as a striker rather than a winger.

OnchanJules
James Dayton should play for England, says Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels (and he's not joking) - April 2013

slystallone
http://m.youtube.com...h?v=32-1rHjwhnQ Saw that yesterday when doing a bit of Google searching on him. Cracking bit of skill that is - the lad he squared it too should have buried it though! I like the look of him, from what I've seen on t'internet. I do like a winger with genuine pace; who has the odd trick or 2 and who can also chip in with the odd goal. He looks this sort. Quietly impressed with the 2 brought in so far - bring on the next signing eh?
