Bristolatic
Sorry to rake up the past, but the tactical genius has found himself a job as assistant to Orange Man after nearly two years out of work. What a team they'll make. Rumour has it that barriers have already been erected across the half way line at the training ground to keep the full backs where they belong. Southend fans are going to love what he brings to the table. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11750/8785504/Penney-drops-in-at-Shrimpers

JonesyOAFC
An absolute managerial dream team, probably rivaled only by Clough and Taylor.

pukka
whilst people go on about saying how Penney will send them down etc... we weren't relegated were we?
Latics_Fanatic
whilst people go on about saying how Penney will send them down etc... we weren't relegated were we? Closest it has felt to a relegation whilst i've been supporting Latics (Since 2001/2002) It was more the manner and style of football that was the problem. The fact that Gregan pretty much single-handedly kept us up that year also raises alarm bells. Even last season didn't fell as bad as under Penney. It was the fact we never really played well at any point which frustrated. Even in the wins (stockport away being a prime example). But we never looked like getting battered either. (bar swindon) He wasn't good by any means, but we were as close last season as that season. No matter what people think.
