opinions4u
I'll start it off with a reminder of Old Trafford 1993. I was there, but didn't realise the significance of this moment at the time:
pukka
That ball from Warne is my first ashes memory. I was 9. First cricket memory is going to see Carl Hooper smash 188 in the wood cup final for Middleton vs Heywood (or heywood vs middleton)
opinions4u
My first Ashes memory is as a 9 year old too! My Dad took me to Old Trafford to see the 4th ay of the 1977 test. Greg Chappell scored 112. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=zD9ujsXsDhM&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DzD9ujsXsDhM Edited June 26, 2013 by opinions4u
Monty Burns
Some of the prices on ebay are massive, 3 or 4 times face value already. If I wasnt going with my son I would sell them. He would be heartbroken tho.

beag_teeets
I've got the feeling that it is going to be quite a close series. On paper we should win comfortably but as we know, you play on grass, the convicts will raise their game and we are more than capable of throwing tests away needlessly. oafcprozac
I'm heartened by the fact that their openers are Watson. Warner & Hughes. Watson is a very good player, but lacks heart and has balls of cotton wool. Hughes has done little to justify his hype. Get into their top order and we're cooking... As for Warner he'll be easy to wind up, the home crowds are going to eat him for breakfast... But I don't think it'll be the walkover everyone is expecting 2-1 to England & similar in Convict Land Edited July 1, 2013 by oafcprozac
4froale
If anyone knows off/ is selling tickets that aren't ridiculously overpriced give me a shout, I missed out
dave_ragg1984
Michael Clarke is the only player they have we should worry about. But they should be a lot more worried about Cook. If we play well, we win. I'm slightly worried about the batting line up, because we haven't been posting big first innings totals. But our bowlers are more than capable of taking 20 wickets I'm each match. Their attack is nowhere near as good. 3 or 4-0 over here, depending on the weather. Over there is an altogether different beast... It's a tough place to go and win and not many teams do it.
dave_ragg1984
If anyone knows off/ is selling tickets that aren't ridiculously overpriced give me a shout, I missed out Are they still selling day 5 tickets at OT? I got a day 5 ticket for £25. Obviously it's a big risk that it won't get to 5 days, but if its anything like last time (where I was locked out near the front of the queue) then it will be £25 well spent. pukka
I'm missing Stevenage as the only day I could get a ticket for was the saturday. Arrived on Thursday - the new temp stand. It better be decent weather wise
pukka
Prediction Time: Series Result: 3-1 England (Old Trafford washout, as I have a ticket) Star Man: Jimmy Anderson Flop: Graeme Swann Aussie Star Man: Clarke
Monty Burns
Michael Clarke is the only player they have we should worry about Watson? Pattinson? Siddle?
dave_ragg1984
Watson? Pattinson? Siddle? Well I'm not worried about them, so I wouldn't expect any of our lads to be.
leeslover
And cue the usual bull:censored: mind games. Somehow they don't sound the same coming from Pup as they did from Steve Waugh or Glenn McGrath http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/23237600

24hoursfromtulsehill
Cricket. It's just tennis with more catching. But...but...but. I'm aghast. England losing at the official and unofficial national anthems. Advance Australia Fair is better than God Save Your Queen. Waltzing Matilda is better than Ingerland Ingerland Ingerland. They need to put that behind them quickly and concentrate on finding those gaps beyond the fence and in the streets.
beag_teeets
Sounds like they had the equivalent of Harmison's opener over there. Bodes well. Over confidence is something we need to guard against, proper test start so far, the openers aren't doing anything flash and hoping to digin. Proper krikkit.
