referee vs walsall

Oldham Athletic v Walsall GARY SUTTON Nigel Smith and Ricky Wootton Fourth Official Mark Jones

Doesn't ring a bell, so hopefully it's becuase i've never noticed him as he's a decent one.

But if he's the ref for a league one game, the chances of him being decent are slim to none really based on recent trends.

well he was :censored:ing :censored:e.

Yup - as was the referee last week.

So players and management spend weeks in pre-season, getting to their peak in time for the start of the season....then the refs turn in performances that suggest they've never come across football before.

LJ said in his Latics Player interview that he went to speak to the ref after the match yesterday to ask about why we weren't given a penalty for the handball and was told; "Yeah, you might have a point, actually"!

Ref's have a tough job, but it's hard to defend a lot of them - particularly in the lower divisions.

If 4500 can see its a blatant handball, why can't the 2 that matter?
