philliggi
After everton recently changed their club crest in a move which attracted much criticism from fans. As a result the club have moved to change the crest again, this time opening the vote to fans. This reminds me of when latics did the same and were greeted with a wave of criticism themselves. The reason i bring this up is personally i would love the club to do what everton are doing and give the fans a vote. When it comes to things like the club crest im a traditionalist not a modernist. Is it just a case of everton can afford to correct their mistakes whereas we are strapped for cash and are lumped with it?
real
When you say you are a traditionalist do you mean a semi-contemporary traditionalist? Or do you want the 1950s badge back? The "old" badge is anything but traditional - it harps of the late 70s / early 80s Edited September 23, 2013 by real

dave_ragg1984
The old badge was traditional in that it featured an owl sat on a football, like all (or at least the vast majority) of our old badges have. The new badge doesn't. -

yarddogs
I'd stick to us worrying about where our next win is coming from rather than an owl sat on a fecking football !

Alec1954
It would have been nice if a red rose had featured somewhere....
Matt
It would have been nice if a red rose had featured somewhere.... There is rose reflection in each of the owl's eyes. A nice touch, I'm sure you'll agree.
petelatics
I like the new badge. I liked the old badges. I'll probably like the next one. I feel a Harry Hill moment coming!
bigfatjoe1
I like the 1972 badge. But, i quite like the new badge. It speaks to a younger generation. Actually, the more i think about the less i like the the badge we had from the 1980s.
pukka
When they said were getting a new badge. I knew Id hate it. Then I saw it and thought "it's not that bad - seen a lot worse" I prefer the old one, I just question the need to spend money on this kind of thing. No one asks for a change. bigfatjoe1
I think it's about marketing to a new generation, though i'm no expert on such issues. On that level, i think the new badge works. Do younger fans spend more on merchandising? The more mature gentlemen, like me, don't really matter in such things.
JonesyOAFC
The new badge is bloody awful. It looks like something that's been knocked up on clip-art.
Frankly Mr Shankly
It's amateurish. Pretty much how the club is generally run I'd say.
