laticsrblue
I remember his grandad Walter playing for the Latics, a bit one paced, but a tough nut. Walter Joyce took a mean free kick, as I remember.
MAC0AFC
What about if they're thrown straight in ala Petrasso and lads that have been here months chomping at the bit and don't get a chance? That's going to create issues. You can't please all of the people all of the time but what about giving a few a chance first then go into the market if they don't take their chance. I see this as signing people for the sake of it 'just in case'. Even if we get injuries there's enough depth in the squad to compensate with some very good youngsters who could be short-term stop gap. but petrasso won us the game, so that's different - then he had an awful half hour at shrewsbury and was replaced - LJ again proving he's not another dickov! oafcprozac
Yes he won us the game, but did very little all game. The manager was already looking to sub him because of his all round minimal contribution. Nothing against the lad, he's simply not ready for the rigours of league one. In all honesty he shouldn't have started at Shrewsbury, only doing so as the manager thought JCH was bollocksed.

I agree on the whole about loan players coming in. Even with our current injuries a centre mid isn't what we need - we have Smith, Wes and Rodgers as clear first teamers and Winchester and Mellor as capable understudies (albeit possibly used elsewhere to plug gaps as well). Petrasso was a strange one at the time for me, now with montano out it makes sense to have somebody as backup on the wing but from the 2 performances so far he should be behind Dayton, Sidney, Winchester, Millar (now injured short term) and Philly (as required) for a starting place. I don't think I ever saw Walter play, but I do remember when he was on Jimmy Frizzell's coaching staff.
