Good. Newcastle fans always on Pardew's back and he's done a good job.

Colocinni lined up as Pardew's replacement, after LJ's youngest manager crown.

Irvine sacked at WBA. Pulis in surely.

The bloke at Mansfield, Murray, is younger than LJ. He played against us when we played them in the cup last year.

West Brom should never had got rid of Steve Clarke; Pepe Mel and Alan Irvine have been poor replacements. Tony Pulis might just be the type of manager to see them over the relegation line though; i think it's a logical choice in their current position.

Pardew to Palace? Doubling his wage; huge bonus if he keeps them up, transfer funds in the window and fans who respect and support him already......nah; fecked if I know why he's leaving?!?!?!?

Seriously; he's done really well to stay in the Newcastle job for as long as he has. Ashley has been very supportive considering the fans protests and the like. Quite clever too with the long contract offer too - sure it was packed full of clauses to protect Newcastle; but - has meant they've got a reported £2.5 million compensation from Palace for Pardew. Clever stuff.

Newcastle need a strong personality to go into that job. The side's decent enough; Sissoko is a stand out, and Ajose Perez looks a prospect. But - as has always been the case, the fans expectations up there are unbelievable; waaaay above their actual achievavble or historical abilities. A strong and almost arrogant character is needed for that role: someone like a Frank Rijkard (spl) maybe?

Anyhow - tis the season: the managerial merry-go-round begins...

Sat with a Leicester fan on the train back yesterday, he had got on at Sheff and lives in Manchester, seemed to think Pearson would be safe as they have come a long way under his management, mind you he was quite pissed off at losing to Palace seemed to think they had no one up front who could put the ball in the net. Sound familiar.
