yarddog73
just seen a snipet of LJ's post match interview and he states that effectively Gillingham came with a 4-5-1 to kill the game and nail us down, im sorry but was he at the match 51/49 possesion for gills 15/5 shots to gills, 8/3 shots on target to gills now i will take a stuffy win over playing well and getting nothing but for the manager to see it like that worries me, at least I agree with his analysis that ox was mom. Every team we've played at home so far has come to stifle us, it's a Johnson stock answer.
blueatheart
Remind me which team got the three points? How many times have we :censored:ed up a 1-0 lead in a game like that? We didn't today.
rudemedic
They came to stifle us/We need to be able to break teams down has become the Johnson equivalent of the We were terribly unlucky/didn't deserve to lose that you used to hear from Dickov. But I don't really give too much creed to what managers say, especially now that anything the FA thinks is dodgy earns significant penalties, even if it is actually true. Having said that I doubt LJ had actually seen the stats properly before he was asked that question. Plus the "official" stats are notoriously dodgy for accuracy. One statistic matters- it's the one that says we get three points and Gillingham go back to Kent with none.

yarddog73
the point im trying to make is that he has said on record that they came for the draw, im sorry great win but we could of been out of site at half time, even playing the 4-5-1 they caused us no end of problems. opinions4u
We won. We weren't great. Better than we were unlucky. The referee robbed us. I'll take winning ugly as progress over losing pretty. Next step is to win in style.
jimsleftfoot
It's a bit is spin, every manager does it and doesn't really mean anything. Oh and we won.
GlossopLatic
I don't give a :censored: about what the manager says in a post match interview. I care about the result and the performance. We won
HarryBosch
I've stopped listening. The problem is that managers have got to say something, anything before & after every match. And during every week, a couple of times. Some of it is going to be bollocks. A lot of it will be sincere &'said with the best intentions but then circumstances will cause it to look like bollocks, eg we started the season playing out from central defence with Mellor & Tarkowski and that was the way it was going to be. Now, in February, we're quite a bit more agricultural in that department.
Hands on
I have no doubt that the Gills did intend to do what LJ said but they found us in a generous mood and we were lucky to win, if luck is scoring a spectacular goal and having a keeper who saved those chances they didn't squander. Matt
Johnson should rant more. Like Ric Flair. In fact all manager interviews should be screened like an 1980's US pro wrestling angle. :censored: yeah.

Are you trying to say that Johnson should become a limousine riding, jet flying son of a gun! and the dirtiest player in the game?
