the_mighty_bosh Posted March 28, 2014 Share Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) After reading Midsblue's post on the Corney Chron article thread regarding fans taking initiative in terms of selling the club to a wider audience, then after reading Darragh MacAnthony's BBC interview, I was thinking about how effective a social media campaign to generate interest in the club would be? MacAnthony bought Posh to "have some fun" after the Big Ron Manager fiasco but it certainly hasn't been dull since. 3 promotions, 2 relegations, making big money from player sales and encouraging a pretty wacky attack-minded team in his 8 years in charge. We don't need to say the obvious things, we could say things like "A club with fans who have self-deprecating wit" or "A club that is looking for a hero to save it from mediocrity" or even "A club that has been endorsing :censored: football for 20 years and counting". Things that offer the club up as an alternative from the norm and with a little sense of humour. I'm not saying to try and get multiple people to buy a small stake, that's what a supporters trust would be for. Putting an ad in the FT is probably a more direct way of doing it, but word of mouth (or finger) through twitter could potentially reach people with money who aren't business people.
