palmer1
Its that time of year again..... Only 3 games to go. The time when he comes into his own.... A time when he proves that he can play football..... Can he once again con his way to another year as a professional footballer..... Can he even get in the team this time..... Is it as bird..... Is it a plane..... Is it a striker..... Is it a winger..... Will Kirk Millar get another contract? Edited April 21, 2014 by palmer1

oldhamoafc
If he does, I might refuse to buy a season ticket ?
JoshOWTB
I found an Oldham program from 2008 today, Kirk Millar is the last player out of the 35 in the team list then in the team - survivor!
drphibes
Probably on a very low wage but there seems to be no progress at all from the boy so its time to let him go.

philliggi
He came on at cov away at xmas and i thought he changed the game. Gave us real impettus for the last 10 mins. Him and petrasso ran them ragged and he would have scored had petrasso let the ball run instead of going alone. I thought he would make a real imput and was glad he got the start next game. He was pants and got subbed at half time never to be seen again. NEXT!!!
losesome
Millar , Mellor and Winchester - time to let them go. If they can't make any impact on the current team then they are clearly not good enough. League 2 at best.
philliggi
Id actually agree with that lonesome. Bit gutted for mellor given the debut at scunny and the performances that led to fulham looking at him but its just not been a good couple of years for him. SavageTheBeast
When you have got players who moan they can't run (Mellor) another can't complete 90 mins (Winchester) they don't deserve to be league 1 footballers conference will be there level in a few years and shop Millar back to chorley
dec666
The performances of Mellor, Millar and Winchester can't be helped by being dropped in and out of the team regardless of how they played.
Jack Wight
I think they could all make it in league 2, they aren't the worst players I've seen, not by a long mile.
blueatheart
The performances of Mellor, Millar and Winchester can't be helped by being dropped in and out of the team regardless of how they played. This. It was said about Wilson at Bristol City that he was always seen as the kid because he had come up through the youth system. Perhaps that is the issue with Mellor and Winchester (I'm not even flying a flag for Millar). They are seen as young prospects despite having pro contracts for a couple of seasons. The three of them have played in a combined 21 matches this year with only four being on the pitch from the start. IF Mellor and Winchester were to make it, the need to start at least fifteen games (all comps) and be sub at least another 10 times each next season. If they don't have that sort of consistency or are being dropped at 21 then they clearly don't cut it. Millar, who will be 22, had that chance this season and didn't do it. Edit: and incidentally the Anton R and Joel Byrom signings didn't necessarily need to happen given how little they have played (be it injury or not) and the fact that both Carl and Dave M can play in midfield. ShireBlue
I'd much rather have Winchester and Mellor in the squad over Dunfield, Rodgers or Gafaiti. As for Millar, I think it's time he's given a chance at a League 2 club.
RobOAFC
Be worth seeing Winchester for the last 3 games in our current 5 man midfield
deyres42
The performances of Mellor, Millar and Winchester can't be helped by being dropped in and out of the team regardless of how they played. On the other hand, given we've mainly been rubbish in all their time around the 1st team squad, if their performances had been good enough then they wouldn't have had much difficulty in keeping their places.
