rigsby
Team weakened dramatically. OUT go smith(captain and by far our best player). Hawkins not signed, paltry offer by all accounts. Wes gone. Who have we signed? Pretty much nobody. Message for corney, are you trying to emulate darlington? because without a team you WILL NOT GET BUMS ON SEATS. Another abject season fighting for survival is on the horizon, hopless leadership at this club..

A new stand well on the way being built (hopefully by January). A young promising manager who's looking to build and learn from his mistakes last season. Although selling Smith, we have gained an equally promising midfield player. Wes Gone, replaced with Mike Jones, a more attacking midfielder. Building on the ten game unbeaten run that we produced at the end of last season. Mills and Wilson brought in to sure up the full-back positions. Team weakened? Maybe. Promising signings? Definitely. An overreaction from a Latics fan? Priceless. 4 weeks to go to the first game, 9 or so weeks until the window shuts. A long time to get more players in. Ryan
I'm happy with the players we've brought in so far. Still feel we're weak up front, though.

There are negatives like losing smith, but nearly every club has lost players they wanted to keep. Orient lost half their team.

HarryBosch
I think Jones and Kelly as a pair look potentially better than Smith and Wesolowski as a pair. Smith is certainly the most valuable player of the four (does that make him the best of the four? not necessarily) but, he was wasted with us at this level for me. We still need strengthening up front but we're certainly no worse off - especially if Philliskirk and Clarke Harris kick on, which they should. One of Turner or Bove might come through, plus I'll be amazed if we don't sign one experienced striker or a quality loannee from the leagues above. Defence is stronger. We've got a decent, experienced keeper and he's OUR keeper. The wings are weaker but they were unproductive anyway last year, I hope LJ goes with a solid three in midfield instead with Hamez Dayton to be thrown in now and again for something different. He's said we'll bring 4 or 5 more in yet so things look quite rosy to me.
BlueJazzer
.........and the sun is shining! How Dull is life? Can't believe 'Hawkins' didn't sign either.............who's he by the way? Taylor Hawkins. Foo fighters drummer. We were rumoured to be signing him to lead the chants in the rochdull rd end.

LJ said more are to come, adn he is foucssing on a striker. He knows it, we know it. Time to judge is 2nd week in September, not 2nd week in July. And really the best time is 2nd week in April!!! Monty Burns
Team weakened dramatically. Disagree. OUT go smith(captain and by far our best player). Well spotted, been replaced. Hawkins not signed, paltry offer by all accounts. That was a bit sad I admit. Wes gone. Well spotted, been replaced. Who have we signed? Pretty much nobody. Colchester Captain Wilson, fans upset he left. Crawleys best player Jones, fans upset that he left. Exciting punt on previously injured midfield maestro Kelly, fans disapointed he left. Keeper Rachubka and quality left foot MIlls. Message for corney, are you trying to emulate darlington? because without a team you WILL NOT GET BUMS ON SEATS. Moot point, already shot down. IOWA1984
Jeez, some one woke up on the wrong side of the bed! 9 weeks til close of transfer window. Lots of players still out of contract to sign, in fact we are being proactive with some of those players by taking them on trial. If you are looking for multi million pound signings and a team full of world beaters along with rich oil benefactor owners, other larger north west clubs are available... slystallone
So, all in all; Rigsby's fishing trip didn't turn out to be that effective did it? I'd probably suggest a change of bait. That, or a bigger boat...
Hands on
I'm sure clubs are involved in a game of financial chicken. There are more players out there than there are places and the 'bigger' league one clubs like us are waiting for realism to sink in. There will be a pool of free agents available to sign all season. And am I right in thinking the team captain has yet to sign?
