Midsblue
It's Friday, I've still got two weeks at work until holidays and were in middle of pre-season with occasional news from the club. Would be interested in your thoughts on following to while away the Friday... 1. Do you think we'll finish in Top 2, Play-Offs, Top 10, mid-table or relegation? 2. Who will be top scorer for OAFC and how many goals? 3. Do you think we'll sign any loans from Newcastle? 4. Who will be the stand out player for OAFC this coming season? 5. Who would be your ideal (remain realistic please) signing - permanent or loan - for this season? Which club are they currently with, what position and why? My view - 1. Mid-table 2. JCH & 15 goals 3. No 4. JCH (before he's sold in January) 5. Leon Clarke - Wolves, proven goalscorer at this level Edited July 25, 2014 by Midsblue

But the longer the summer goes on and he hasn't gone anywhere you never know. Would be realistic and there was a link earlier on in pre season. Clarke wasn't mentioned unfortunately but Cassidy headed that list and Jackett stated that defo to a League One club.

Lee Sinnott
1) Relegated 2) Gros - 8 3) A backup keeper. 4) Dayton 5) Llera Stevie J, I read Hallam Hope is off to Hibs. Shame, cos he knows where the net is...

Shame, cos he knows where the net is... A loan signing like him seems the only way we'll get someone in who can bag a decent number. Apparently Bury have enquired about taking him back there on loan. GravityGrave
1 . Similar to last season . A flirt with the drop but safe in around 16th/17th 2. JCH 12 goals 3. Agree with Sinnott in a back up keeper 4. J. Wilson 5. Petrasso / clarke
Midsblue
JCH to get 15 goals by Jan? Wow! Yeah, that's why we'll sell because they'd be all sniffing around come Christmas. Hopefully with this new director on board and JCH on a decent contract we'd get a decent fee greater than Tarky, Baxter etc. I'd even stick my neck out and predict Wolves to buy him with a swap deal of Clarke. slystallone
1.Around last season's finish, certainly no higher; but could be lower (but not bottom 4 low) 2. If he's played at the top of the 4-5-1, JCH with 8 to 10. 3. Doubt it 4. Hoping Dieng turns out to be a gem 5. Honestly, most of the realistic free agent signings i thought could have been possibilities and made us better have signed for other sides. Genuinelly, i have no idea what LJ is thinking now loan wise, who is out there now who could come in? Feck it, i'll go for Jordan Ibe of liverpool, season long loan, pacey wide player. 4froale
I know alan stubbs is at hibs now and all that, but :censored: me surely he would benefit more from a loan here than the Scottish championship
deyres42
I can't recall us getting any loans from Everton in recent times, strange cos Brentford and Colchester have had some good ones, Bidwell, Forshaw, Garbutt.
the_mighty_bosh
1. Do you think we'll finish in Top 2, Play-Offs, Top 10, mid-table or relegation? This is the most confident I've been in a while that we won't get relegated (famous last words!), but top 10 is a bit of a stretch so mid-table for me. 2. Who will be top scorer for OAFC and how many goals? Philliskirk with 12, but hopefully a lot of players will share the load. 3. Do you think we'll sign any loans from Newcastle? I doubt it. 4. Who will be the stand out player for OAFC this coming season? James Wilson 5. Who would be your ideal (remain realistic please) signing - permanent or loan - for this season? Which club are they currently with, what position and why? If we go down the 3 centre backs route then Llera would be an ideal signing, but if our current strikers fail to deliver by the end of August then an experienced striker in the Shefki Kuqi mold is a must.
