BP1960
I like the side with the white strip down it but not the other... I prefer the training kit, why isn't the white stripe down both sides, making it more traditional ? Edited August 7, 2014 by BP1960

LaticsChris
I don't understand all this "It looks like Pompey/Cardiff/Bastia/Empoli" nonsense. Loads of clubs play in blue and white, so there are going to be a lot of similarities. That's why we have change strips. Until we return to our proper kit we will never have a unique kit. But that's been said, agreed with and disagreed with plenty of times. So really the club and manufacturers can't win.

BP1960
I'm not keen on asymmetrical designs. Maybe I've got a touch of OCD, but the shirt looks a bit of a mess to be. I won't be buying one, but then again at my age - and with my figure - that's probably not a bad thing! The 'success' of the shirt, I suppose, will be measured in sales. Why don't the club and manufacturers do a fans survey first using several designs (including traditional) to help judge how sales will fare ? IMO there wouldn't have been many votes for this one. IMO there wouldn't have been many votes for this one. It was done with away shirts and we ended up with the fluoresent yellow of last time. I do agree that something along the lines of a vote or maybe a proposal from the trust to the board/Sondico to allow fan input into next seasons kit design? palmer1
We have played in an nearly all blue shirt for far more many years than any other. That includes tangerine or blue with a white stripe down the middle or visa versa We today unveiled an practically all blue shirt which is by far the most traditional (sorry Zorro) Oldham style in the last 100 years so what's the problem Edited August 7, 2014 by palmer1

LaticsChris
I'll agree with Zorro though, traditional is the wrong word. I don't push for that design out of tradition, I push for it because I think it's pretty unique and - when paired with the V neck collar - a masterclass in simple football shirt design. If we wore that strip - and variations of it - for, let's say, a decade it would start to become synonymous with us. We would have a real signature kit. We could wear all blue, or blue with white shorts for a hundred years and it would never be a shirt you could pick out in a line up and say "That's Oldham". That's my two penn'orth anyway. palmer1
Hartlepool had the same to name 1 club, not as unique as some think They wore it for about 15 seasons at the same time as us Edited August 7, 2014 by palmer1

nzlatic
Does anyone actually see other teams and feel jealous of their 'unique' kit? For that matter, does anyone admire the colour/quality/style of another teams kit? Really don't get why there's such a fuss about it. It's not like we've done a Cardiff. I I admire Blackburn Rovers for example, who have never changed in almost 140 years, having said that will their fans accept the lighter shade of blue shirt this coming season? http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Blackburn_Rovers/Blackburn_Rovers.htm Edited August 7, 2014 by BP1960

Forte_Baby
The shirt design of 39 years was unique to the club and gave it a special identity, all blue could apply to scores of clubs. Sadly football has moved on commercialisation has took over football. We rely on shirt sales and if we kept same design each season we make no money as people would not buy it. Could be worse could have a Cardiff City owner who changes our home kit to red.
