JohnnyPimp
SYP have been getting away with murder ever since the miners' strikes in the 80's. Special privilege for acting as Thatcher's private militia.
rudemedic
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/away-fans-2014-15 FSF survey about experience at away games. Will definitely be worth filling in about the stewarding INSIDE the ground.
unsworthlatic
The first lad chucked out shortly after 60 minutes hadn't seemed to have done that much wrong, that said the steward had been up on his own a few times speaking to people at the top (not sure who) before making the decision this lad had to be escorted out of the ground for whatever reason. Not sure what went on then? The first of the lads to be man handled out of the ground down the exit tunnel (that they shut for exiting the ground at the end) seemed to be goading the steward at the bottom by keep 'attempting' to step on the barrier at the front (not doing much harm I know but any excuse for jobsworth stewards) and maybe warranted getting removed from the ground but not the treatment he seemingly had. The second lad that went to see what was going on I saw was pushed quite aggressively by the steward in question but couldn't see any reason for this, however I was quite high up in the stand to the left so I wouldn't be able to hear what was said. I think it could have caused a much bigger reaction from Oldham supporters if it was earlier in the game or if the game was dull but think most oldham fans saw straight through this to the excellent performance that went on on the pitch
SAV
Thought the police at Preston and they be the same when we play Fleetwood where OTT But SYP are always treating footie fans like dirt. the Coppers at PNE were fine and on the bus back to the station just said it how it is...'If you stand out in a crowd e.t.c' as for SYP they should be disbanded and put out for tender

Still SYP have always been heavy handed.
disjointed
I'm usually a mild mannered individual who, if he detects trouble, moves carefully in the other direction. My instinct is to respect authority. During injury time there was something going on in the exit tunnel that I didn't see. Stories of stewards holding a Latics fan down by the throat. I didn't see any of it. Another relatively young (teen?) Latics fan ran towards the tunnel (not at any great pace) in an apparent effort to see what was going on. There was no sign of any aggressive intent on his part when a steward (no.27) moved forwards and pushed him hard with both hands. A nice friendly copper who witnessed this then took the Latics fan down the tunnel in an apparent arrest. I did make my feelings known to said steward and the Chief Steward (who was uninterested). I've not seen the lad since but if he's spent a few hours in a police cell or is facing a magistrate next week I would be more than happy to provide evidence if needed. Please get in touch. If he's just been chucked out and that's the end of it I will be sending a letter of complaint to Doncaster Rovers anyway, for all the good that will do. I can't stand by and watch somebody get dragged through the courts for being assaulted. Just a quick update, I was mistaken with who I thought was manhandled it wasn't Daniel, also led to believe the lad you were referring to, O4U, he was just ejected. Looks like Donny will have to wait another 12 months before you visit.
unsworthlatic
Got an update from a family member of the first one chucked out (just after our second) was ejected for persistent standing on the aisles. I saw the steward go up two/three times, whether he warned him more than once I do not know. As much as persistent standing is an 'offence' at a football match I think it's a bit petty to be ejected for such a thing if supporters are not in any danger which no Oldham fans were. He was not arrested and the stewards escorted him out of the ground. I was then told things turned slightly heavy handed when the bother started right near the end. After the game this teen and their family members along with other Oldham fans were hurled abuse at by other Doncaster supporters (we were last out of the ground so didn't see it, just what I've heard) followed by being held in a corner by the police saying they were inciting the Donny fans. Oldham fans were then threatened by getting 'locked up in a cell' if they carried on and released them shortly after when the Doncaster supporters went. Anybody wishing to put together a letter of complaint can use this information and private message me if that is the case because I will pass on the name of the person who has told me all of this. All what I have heard not seen!!
Chaddy_Ender
The reason they ejected him was not for standing but persistent standing in the walkway, he was stood right in front of us and was asked to stand between the seats, they let us stand throughout but wanted the aisles and fire exits kept clear, because he didnt conform he was removed. Fair enough then if that was the case, I was sat down to the left so just saw him get ejected, sure he will learn from his mistakes as he missed a cracking second half!
