BRAT
I know there are many posters on here who are over 50. Does anybody know if Latics are invovled with the walking football initative. If not is there anybody who would be interested in getting involved.
rudemedic
Latics did over 55s football last season, I don't think it was necessarily walking football, but it was of that ilk. I couldn't recommend something like walking football enough from a public health point-of-view.
underdog
Maybe its worth while contacting the community team at latics to discuss and I'll be joining in 12 yrs myself. Edited September 4, 2014 by underdog

I am not the quickest myself but I can still pick a mean pass. I would love to get involved with like minded Tics.

I'd love to, but it's a bloody long way from Bristol for a game of footie. I was a goalkeeper, so does this mean I have to walk before flinging my self full length in a brave attempt at a save? Might manage a crawl. Edited September 4, 2014 by Bristolatic

underdog
Thanks,I'm your ginger mates dad Oh dear I can't confirm or deny anything I have witnessed on match days...pre and post match...cough, cough what's it worth? However I would like my whoopie cushion outfit back so if you could kick him in a walking football motion I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Good job he was not in an argumentative mood when I told him enough sit down on that coach and rest or I will sit on you...aww the memories. Round the bloody corner my arse. the_mighty_bosh
I used it as a warm up for a group of kids I was coaching the other week, surprised how effective it was.
OAFCM35
I'm not over 50 I'm just really crap at football all though I did have a decent game for Failsworth School Year 11 b team away at Kaskenmoore about 10 years ago ? Can I play ?
L1onheartNew
I would love to get involved when I come back. I have just finished my 7th AFL masters season. After 6 cracked/broken ribs, 3 concussions, 2 broken noses and medial ligament damage repair in my right knee, at 53, walking football is probably a safer alternative. Although I may have an inclination to pick the ball up a few times until I get used to the rules again!

L1onheartNew
Makes sense to move Count Dracula into coaching. Apparently, he struggled with crosses Edited September 5, 2014 by L1onheartNew

petelatics
I've been playing this for about six months. I live down in Surrey. It's fantastic and brilliant for keeping me fit. I'm sixty five and I'd really recommend it to anyone over fifty five. If there isn't one near you, then start your own.
