sjk2008
Sounds like a deserved victory despite some nervy moments towards the end. 3 wins on the bounce 3 clean sheets on the bounce Forte moves onto 5 goals Gillingham at home next week is another realistic chance at 3 more points. Good stuff!
laticdickovarmy
Feel good factor! I was one who criticised Johnson just over a week ago but fair play to him. It's amazing when you defend properly football becomes an easy game Elokbi & Wilson looking like a partnership Few more winnable games in Sep in fact and lads have got to be confident right now
sjk2008
Only teams to beat us are arguably promotion favourites - Preston & Orient. Preston didn't deserve to, despite us being toothless up top, and Orient was a tale of two halves. Things will look very good next week if we see off Gillingham. NewBlue
Hats off to Philliskirk - fantastic today. Caused them loads of problems, played the late arriving midfielder, got back and helped retrieve the ball high up the field and created a few chances. Maybe Poleon's liveliness will bring out the best in him.
opinions4u
Good first half. Should have been a bit more assertive in front of goal. Danny P superb at times and looked like he was playing in snow shoes at other times. Poleon looks like an intelligent runner up front. Good save from Rachubka just before the penalty. Special mention for Forte. He will never score a :censored:ter penalty. Second half appeared to be a tactic of soak it up and hit them on the break. Morgan-Smith coming on and being told to stand on the half way line was baffling. I thought he should have gone left side and terrorised their already booked number 14. A few jitters towards the end, but I think we deserved the win. When did we last win a game without goals from set pieces? Whatever. 2 points off the play-offs. Lukers1
We need a left back , aggressive midfielder and a target man to hold the ball. I though we were woeful in the second half and it was only due to the fact that they were equally as poor that they didn't get something from the game. 3 points though, although I still think lots more work is needed. Frankly Mr Shankly
He's a bit good, Elokobi isn't he? Bossed the back four. Winchester MOM for me. Some sublime little touches and a perfectly weighted through ball for Poleon which was actually too good for him. Not vintage, but we showed some good potential today. pukka
Thoughts on the players (in the order they came into my head) Poleon was very good. A real handful, but intelligent running. He picked the right option too. I liked him. George Elokobi..... My new favourite player. Kick whatever is there! Throws everything into everything. Kelly - better than the last 2 home league games. The odd time he had a wobble (under no pressure) but better. Jones.. decent enough. Kept us moving. Winchester.. get a contract out. Worked hard and a touch of class Forte - Our X factor. We need him fit B Wilson - After sticking his first 3 passes out for throw ins, he was very good today. Solid. J Wilson - Very good. Really rate him. Chubs - A couple vital saves. Did what was needed. Danny P - Apart from his finishing, he was excellent. (MOTM for me) Mills - Much better today. Left his man a couple of times, but he was better. laticsmarra
Well deserved to win, organisation, experience and commitment is what you need to win matches in this division. Matches are close and how how often have we been on the wrong side of games like that in recent years
doggy_oafc
Ban short corners. They're :censored:, they never work, ban them. They're :censored:. Ban. Them. Badly need shooting practice. Build up play is pretty good but the final touch is excruciating. Chaddy roof was hit at least once. Philiskirk was OK, people need to calm their tits about him. He still bottles it when through on goal. Fleetwood were the worst team I've seen at BP for a while. If those arseholes are 2nd we should be feeling very confident. I'm getting a full back piece tattoo of George Elokobi. Er, woof.
Flemboy
Good win and all played well especially Winchester and Philiskirk. Good saves by Chubs. Elokobi superb and I like the way he comes over to the fans after the games.Thought we had a decent ref as well.
opinions4u
We need a left back , aggressive midfielder and a target man to hold the ball. I'd be quite happy to get that left back in that we had on loan from Burnley last season. The Joe Mills I've seen this year has been garbage. I'm interested to see how Jones, Kelly and Winchester grow as a partnership. If they can hold the ball a little better and find the passes for Poleon we don't need a target man as such. Or perhaps just off the bench. I though we were woeful in the second half and it was only due to the fact that they were equally as poor that they didn't get something from the game. I didn't like the second half, but I think it was tactical. 3 points though, although I still think lots more work is needed. Yup. Can't believe they were unbeaten this morning. You can only beat what's in front of you but I do think there's still work to do. That might be improving the organisation of the players we've got. underdog
Enjoyed the game two good teams, officials that let the game flow, winny and mills linking up nicely George immense as usually and I always love him coming right over to clap the fans. Poleon, beats JCH hands down for me his awareness already of were other team mates are in less than a week is superb. Eve though when I was coming out of the ground someone said I don't rate him....yikes look at how he linked in today. This rating stuff is overrated. Philly, best game I've seen out of if for a while and although his shooting was :censored:e, still had a goal and the crowd supported him and not got on his back Unsure if it was a penalty, thought fleet wood were unlucky to come out with a point. Got to say, I think the singers, clappers, wherever you are in the ground are the motivation for this team. Just one bad bit...I bloody hate 1-0 wins....hate hanging in, thought a equaliser was coming so please latics 2-0 from now on Other than that..let the beer flow Edited September 6, 2014 by underdog
PlayItLivo
Fleetwood were unbeaten too which makes it a bit more impressive.
rudemedic
Fleetwood have beaten bottom of the table and pointless Crewe, bottom 4 Scunny, and Notts County. Plus got home draws against Orient and Chesterfield. To say they've had an easy start to the season might be being a bit ungenerous, but it is not far from the truth. Teams will start working them out too, put someone on Schumacher, play a high press, especially when the goalie has the ball and they will struggle. bpmarko
Unsure if it was a penalty, thought fleet wood were unlucky to come out with a point. Please don't scare me like that....or did I miss something?!!

GlossopLatic
Was like the back end of last season again, the back 4 were excellent the save just before the goal was the only save of note from rachubka. They huffed and puffed late on but we absorbed the pressure well. We are going back to being hard to beat it we won't be massively flamboyant but I will happily celebrate plenty of tight 1-0 wins. Markspark92
Kelly looked miles better today read the game very well him and Jones worked well Jones always demanding the ball is good to see, Elokobi rock, Wilson is a real talent not seen him have a bad game yet, Poleon looked sharp for his first game, him and Forte caused problems . Thought Fleetwood were :censored:e. Onwards and Upwards
Gaz_Oafc
Thought the effort from everyone today was top notch. We were the better side, they were just a bunch of moaners who had the odd moments of putting a few nice passes/touches together. Wilson & Elekobi look a good solid partnership. Poleon is an improvement on JCH. Always looks for the ball, makes intelligent runs into the space or the channels and has the pace to beat the defender and doesn't chuck himself on the floor!! Winchester was superb We look a hell of a lot more solid with B.Wilson at RB. Philliskirk worked his spuds off. Forte looked bright, hope his injury isn't too bad. Pleased with today! daniel8157
Good game today. Def the better side
dec666
Thought the first half was similar to the Orient game. Played decent football and the chances were coming, it's just the finishing that's lacking. Second half we sat a bit too deep but were solid at the back, with the exception at times of Mills, who let their number 7 in way too easily. Overall though it was very pleasing. disjointed
1st half we should have been out of sight, but it was really enjoyable, 2nd half we lost our shape a little and as O4U said, Morgan Smith should have been on the left. We definitely have added a bit of steel at the back, and thought Mills had his best game for us since signing. Big George wears the badge with pride and is the sort of player who is infectious for the rest of the team. Both Wilsons again outstanding and Kelly looks better every week. Poleon had a good game but MOM, not for me. One thing about the lad is his pace, we need to keep Forte fit if we want to stay in the top half of the table. Good 3 points though. Just a word on their no. 19, if the ref keeps letting him get away with the fouls every time the ball is pumped up to him, he wont stop doing it. BP1960
A good solid performance, with Kelly looking much better. Elokobi really is an inspiration.
