blueatheart
Exeter are under a transfer embargo aren't they? I think they are out of it now. Edit: they signed two players on a free in August. So they must be. Edited September 12, 2014 by blueatheart
OAFCM35
Strange that why didn't he just sign as free agent for the season?
Gaz_Oafc
I'd guess Johnson wants the option of having him back if he does well after getting some games under his belt?

Simpo
This looks to me like it is to get around the transfer window rules. I'm assuming his Latics contract ran out after the deadline, so he cannot sign permanently for anyone else until January. We had this situation with Adam Lockwood last season, except we've helped Noble out here, to avoid him being in football purgatory for 4 months. Forte_Baby
Strange that why didn't he just sign as free agent for the season? Wonder if the FairPlay rules had anything to do with it

Simpo
Turns out it's for a separate, but similarly dull reason. If Exeter don't fancy him, he can sign for somebody else in Jan. If he had signed for Exeter permanently, that would not have been allowed, due to FIFA's rule forbidding anyone to be registered with 3 different clubs in 1 season. MAC0AFC
so, we're helping someone out? by helping someone out, does this benefit us?
opinions4u
so, we're helping someone out? by helping someone out, does this benefit us? Goodwill with an agent. Doing the right thing by a player to let him ply his trade may mean other players (and potential future signings) see us as the right kinda club to play for. It's simply the right thing to do, regardless of any benefit or not.
