NewBlue
Using the likeness loosely, Poleon's physique and style reminds me of Sergio Aguero. Both are rapid and powerful with a well built low centre of gravity. Willing to scamper down the flanks to chase down defenders, often winning the battle. Close control and dribbling. Happy to drop deeper and link with the midfield. That lends itself to a partner (if you're not world class like Aguero), or somebody who will occupy the space in the centre that his industry will provide chances for. I've been really impressed by the all round game of Poleon, certainly not a third of the player JCH currently is, and he's worked well with Philly in particular, I'm just not sure he can pursue his natural game of covering lots of ground up top while being the lone striker, unless our wingers and midfielders bomb into the box to get on the end of the good work he does out wide. Latics_Fanatic
I think it's hard to judge him from two games. Against Fleetwood he looked to get into different areas and make an impact. He also had better service than he did today against Gillingham. From watching the game today, I think he would have been better suited to playing on the left wing instead of Dayton. His pace could have been a good thing to use first half, as opposed to Dayton who's lack of pace and inability to beat a full back properly was clear in todays game. Personally, i'd like to see Poleon up front with another striker, possibly the big lad who came on today. Chris Porter would be worth a gamble to put up in a "little and large" combination up top though.

One in the first half that if other players had gambled on could have resulted in more. His best performance for a while IMO

His best performance for a while IMOThought he played well against Bradford and created problems for Middlesbrough when he came on. Unfortunately for him Forte and Winchester have been better than him and were legitimately keeping him out of the team, but last season he would be in the side on his current form. He can count himself unlucky to have only played the minutes he has. He did play well today and having someone who wouldn't normally get in the side come in as a result of an injury and play well can only be good. Then again, i'm comparing him to Forte who has bags of pace and likes to get forward as quickly as possible.
palmer1
Forte is first choice, no question going off what we have seen off both players. Dayton is frustrating but if he could build on his performance today then he will be an asset to the squad. We may need him if Fortes knee issues don't clear up.... I know it's early days, and I'm aware he was played as a winger at Leeds, so it could be a process overseen by the manager to convert him to a striker. It could be we need somebody alongside him to play the more traditional number 9 role while he learns the trade. A player with the experience to take up scoring positions could have a field day with a partner like Poleon. A certain Chris Porter would fit the bill nicely. JoeP
I think we're playing him in the right role, but he doesn't look completely match-fit yet. His first touch and decision-making wasn't the best yesterday, but that'll come with match practice.
petelatics
I thought we started well but Poleon looked frustrated towards the end of the first half. Second half we were playing long, high balls that their number five gobbled up. Very promising though.

Chaddy_Ender
Well, he wasn't... He wasnt because Notts County parked the bus and set out not to concede, they played very similar to the way we do at home, when we go to Peterborough and Chesterfield he may have a chance of getting in behind them, heres hoping anyway. HarryBosch
Well, he wasn't... He's been a poor mans Jermaine Johnson (OAFC version) so far. I'm sure he'll come good though. He'll score Saturday.
leeslover
Rule of thumb might be to play him wide when teams come to defend and through the middle where they leave space. I'm not sure if he's the sort to nick goals in a crowded box.
