sjk2008
Compared to recent seasons, certainly post Shez, how do you rate this squad? With rumours of us signing the likes of Ebanks-Blake & Kuszczak, on paper this looks a decent squad IMO. If Kuszczak doesn't happen, then I'd say we could upgrade in GK department. I know we've kept a few clean sheets of late, but I put that down to the defence more rather than Rachubka. He's OK though. Paul Rachubka / Joel Coleman / Tomasz Kuszczak (???) GK Paul Rachubka / Joel Coleman / Tomasz Kuszczak RB Brian Wilson / Connor Brown LB Joseph Mills / Connor Brown CB James Wilson / George Elekobi / Adam Lockwood / Genseric Kusunga RM Carl Winchester / Amari Morgan-Smith LM Jonathan Forte / James Dayton CM Liam Kelly /Mike Jones / Timothee Dieng / Michael Tidser / Carl Winchester CF Danny Philliskirk / Dominic Poleon / Jonathan Forte / Conor Wilkinson / Sylvain Ebanks-Blake ??? I'd send out Rhys Turner, Jordan Bove & David Mellor on loan. Promising...
b0ndl1ne
That isn't a squad on paper that other clubs would be envious of which I think is a good thing for us. The 2 ways to get out of this division seem to be over-relying on 2 top quality strikers or be extremely solid with a bit of luck added in. I think we have a chance of the latter
Latics_Fanatic
I rate this squad quite highly from what i've seen over the last 5/6 games. With the defence coming together and beginning to look pretty solid - even if we did concede 2 tonight - with have given ourselves a great base to build on. Our pacey attacking play with Poleon and Forte in the team is also a very encouraging sign for me. Counter attacking football is becoming more and more important in the modern game, especially with teams experimenting with the 3-5-2 formation. With these players, we can catch teams out on the break, providing someone can finish at the other end. Should we sign Ebanks-Blake and maybe Kuszczak in the not too disant future, we could be looking at a top-half finish. Sneaking into the play-off's would be an absolute dream. Without going up though, i'd expect to see another big turnaround in summer, unless we start dishing out contracts to our better players.
